TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT!

For our Team Member Spotlight this week, we’re highlighting Shanae Colson, our Clinical Lead RBT!

Shanae holds a degree in Human Services and brings compassion, dedication, and support the Uwharrie ABA team. As Clinical Lead, Shanae helps model high-quality ABA services, supports skill development and behavior programs, assists newer RBTs through training and guidance, and works closely with our BCBAs to help ensure consistency and quality of care across our cases.

Here are some fun facts about Shanae:

“Working with the kids.”

🎉 Favorite thing about ABA:
“Learning new skills and applying them in everyday life with families and children. Observing positive change across different environments.”

🤝 Favorite part about working at UABA:
“I love helping families and children grow and learn inside the home and outside their learning environments. Our job is not easy, and showing up to work everyday for our patients is an honor. Our families and children are always heard and seen in our line of work at Uwharrie ABA.”

This week, we’re highlighting Morgan Kinley!

Morgan holds a BA in Health Care Management from Appalachian State and brings so much heart and encouragement to the Uwharrie ABA team. Here are some fun facts about Morgan:

To the special needs moms this Mother’s Day — the autism moms, Down syndrome moms, medically complex moms, therapy-schedule-juggling moms, the ones fighting insurance, advocating at IEP meetings, learning medical terms they never expected to know, and carrying the weight no one else sees… we see you.

You are the planners, protectors, teachers, comforters, and safe places. You celebrate milestones others may overlook and keep showing up even when you’re exhausted.

The world may not always recognize how much you do, but your love changes lives every single day. Happy Mother’s Day to the moms who rarely get the recognition they deserve. 💖🌈💐

Wondering what Caregiver Connect actually looks like when you show up?

We host two types of meetings each month: Peer Support and Table Talks.

🗓 2nd Thursday: Peer Support Night
A relaxed space to connect with other caregivers. You can share what’s on your mind, ask questions, or just listen—whatever feels right for you.

💬 4th Thursday: Table Talk
A more structured evening focused on topics that matter, like the Innovations Waiver, feeding challenges, IEPs, and other local resources. These sessions are designed to give you practical information you can use.

Caregiver Connect is about building a reliable space for connection and support.

***RESCHEDULE UPDATE!***

Our Innovations Waiver and 1915i Table Talk has been rescheduled for MARCH 26, 2026!

This gives our caregivers a little extra time to send in anything they’d like addressed during the session. We’re excited to host Al Ward, Community Engagement Specialist with Partners Health, and we know this is going to be an incredibly informative and helpful conversation. Don't forget to invite a friend!
