For our Team Member Spotlight this week, we’re highlighting April Nickel, our resident Student Analyst! 💙

April holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and is currently pursuing a Master's in Special Education/ABA.

Bella currently holds a Bachelor's degree and will be completing her Master's in Social Work this summer.

🌞 Teen Summer Social Group 🌞

Looking for a fun and supportive way for your teen to build friendships and social confidence this summer?

Join us for our 8-week Teen Summer Social Group! Through engaging activities and shared experiences, participants will have opportunities to strengthen communication skills, practice cooperation, build meaningful peer connections, and grow their confidence in social situations, all in a welcoming and supportive environment.

This group is designed for teens whose primary goal is social skill development and who can participate safely in a small-group setting without the need for intensive behavioral support.

✨ No current ABA services are required to participate.
✨ Participation in the social group does not enroll your child in ongoing ABA services.
✨ Open to teens looking to connect, learn, and have fun this summer.

Space is limited. If you'd like to learn more or see if this group is a good fit for your teen, we'd love to hear from you!

For our Team Member Spotlight this week, we’re highlighting Shanae Colson, our Clinical Lead RBT!

Shanae holds a degree in Human Services and brings compassion, dedication, and support the Uwharrie ABA team. As Clinical Lead, Shanae helps model high-quality ABA services, supports skill development and behavior programs, assists newer RBTs through training and guidance, and works closely with our BCBAs to help ensure consistency and quality of care across our cases.

“Working with the kids.”

🎉 Favorite thing about ABA:
“Learning new skills and applying them in everyday life with families and children. Observing positive change across different environments.”

🤝 Favorite part about working at UABA:

We’re excited to start our new Team Member Spotlight series so our community can get to know the amazing individuals behind UABA! We're here to build connections, put friendly faces with our company name, and celebrate the team members who make such a difference every day for the families we serve.

You are the planners, protectors, teachers, comforters, and safe places. You celebrate milestones others may overlook and keep showing up even when you’re exhausted.

***RESCHEDULE UPDATE!***

Our Innovations Waiver and 1915i Table Talk has been rescheduled for MARCH 26, 2026!

This gives our caregivers a little extra time to send in anything they’d like addressed during the session. We’re excited to host Al Ward, Community Engagement Specialist with Partners Health, and we know this is going to be an incredibly informative and helpful conversation. Don't forget to invite a friend!
