Yesterday we had the opportunity to put together some go bags for those leaving domestic abuse and trafficking situations with Barn of Grace Ministries.

Abuse and trafficking happens everywhere. Not just in the “rough neighborhoods”, not where you most expect it to. Everywhere. Although it can be uncomfortable, it is so important to have the conversation with your children and family about what the signs of abuse and trafficking are and what can be done to help those in need.

Thanks you so much to Rose Parma with Barn of Grace Ministries for all the work that you do to help those who others may not know how to help and educating others on what they can do. Thank you to TN Bank for collecting donations for this project and all those who donated. Lastly thank you to Networking Maryville for inviting us to take part in helping our community in a way that is new to us.

This past Saturday, we had the opportunity to cleanup part of our community with Keep Blount Beautiful.

Between the Brown Creek and Pistol Creek cleanup locations, 41 bags of liter, 5 tires, 2 bike tires, a wheelchair, a suitcase, and many pounds of scrap metal and wood were collected and properly disposed of.

We love our community and are more than happy to participate in keeping our community clean and beautiful. We will continue to do our part to keep liter and byproducts out of our natural environment and encourage you to do the same, whether that looks like joining a cleanup day or simply throwing trash away in a proper container.

Thank you to Blount County Young Professionals for participating in this event and to Keep Blount Beautiful for providing the supplies we needed to do the job.

For anyone looking for another opportunity to help cleanup, there is a Reuse and Recycling Pop Up being held in the Maryville Greenway parking lot on June 6th as well as Dash For Trash on June 13th at the Blount County Public Library. Some photos we snapped at the PrintFX ribbon cutting yesterday for their new location in Maryville!

We really enjoyed getting to see the big machines and people at work as well as taking in some already finished projects they had. The food from Gilley Goat Bbq was excellent as well!
