Understand insulin resistance. Reset your metabolism. Understand insulin resistance.

I’m Dr. Tom Bolan—“Dr. B”—a 44-year healthcare professional and metabolic health educator. Today, my focus is helping adults understand insulin resistance and how it can affect blood sugar, hunger, cravings, energy, stubborn belly fat, and the body’s ability to burn fat for fuel. Many people have been told that the answer is simply to eat less, exercise harder, or give up every food they enjoy. Bu

t when insulin resistance is part of the problem, another restrictive diet may not address what is happening metabolically. That is where a metabolic reset can help. I share simple, practical strategies designed to support steadier blood sugar, fewer sugar and food cravings, better appetite control, improved insulin sensitivity, and a healthier metabolism—without making healthy living feel impossible. My approach includes education around fiber, meal order, food choices, meal timing, movement, and other sustainable habits that can help your body respond to insulin more effectively. I also share the natural protocol and practical strategies I have personally used to help reverse my own insulin resistance and regain better control of my blood sugar—without eliminating every food you enjoy. My goal is to make metabolic health easier to understand and give you a clear, realistic place to begin. Simple steps. A clear plan forward. Follow this page for practical education about blood sugar, insulin resistance, cravings, fiber, fat burning, and sustainable metabolic health.

Just need a glass or shaker bottle. Just water — hot or cold — and this ingredient.

That’s it!

**Here’s what happens when you activate GLP-1 before meals:**

Your appetite hormone shifts. The constant food noise — that voice telling you to eat more, eat again, eat constantly — turns off. You’re not fighting cravings anymore. Your body stops asking for more.

Your energy doesn’t crash after eating. Instead, you stay stable. Mental clarity shows up. Focus locks in. No post-meal fog.

And here’s the part that matters most: Your body may start to recognize fat as a fuel source instead of storing it. You’re literally burning and utilizing fat for energy rather than being locked in fat-storage mode.

**The timeline:**

Within 15 minutes, cravings may ease up. Within 30 minutes, energy may lift. Within an hour, your mood can shift because your blood sugar is stable and your hormones are balanced.

This isn’t willpower. This isn’t restriction. This is biology working the way it’s supposed to work.

I use this before my largest meal every single day. It’s become non-negotiable for me — not because I’m forcing it, but because the results are real. The appetite control, the energy, the mental clarity, the fat utilization. All of it.

If you’re dealing with constant cravings, energy crashes after meals, or belly fat that won’t respond no matter what you try — this might be exactly what your body needs.

Comment GLP-1 below and I’ll send you exactly what I use and how to get started.

Sick of high blood sugar, belly fat, fatigue, and numbers that keep creeping the wrong direction?

A lot of those issues can show up together.

One of the simplest things I use is starting meals with a fiber matrix mineral blend, then adding two chlorogenic acid yerba mate drinks a day.

Why?

Fiber can help support a steadier blood sugar response after meals and make it easier to stay fuller longer.

And chlorogenic-acid support is one of the nutritional tools I use as part of a broader metabolic-health routine.

For me, this combination has been a game changer for cravings, energy, and overall metabolic health.

Simple. Consistent. Easy to do.

The one thing you should eat before every meal if you’re trying to burn belly fat, get rid of the dad bod, lower your blood pressure, lower your triglycerides, or just lower your blood sugar.

These Things May Sound Like Totally Different Problems

Belly fat. High blood pressure. Low energy. Brain fog. Sleep issues. Inflammation everywhere.

But they’re not different problems at all.
They’re all connected to one thing — insulin.
When your insulin is out of control, it affects everything.

There’s a Lot You Can Do

But the easiest thing is to add fiber before your meals.
Not a side salad or a couple bites of vegetables.
Real fiber. Five to seven grams of real vegetable fiber.
Spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, leafy greens — these are your best choices.

Why This Works

Fiber slows down the absorption of glucose into your bloodstream.
A lower blood sugar spike means lower insulin demand.
And when insulin is low, the fat can go.
The sleep improves. The inflammation drops. The energy comes back.

The Consistency Factor

If vegetables aren’t your thing, the easiest way to be consistent is a plant-based natural fiber matrix drink.
Mix it in water. Take it anywhere. Before your largest meal.
That’s it!

No complicated protocols. No stacks of supplements. No confusion.

Just one thing, and when you get your insulin under control, it literally changes everything.
The difference shows up within days — steadier energy, fewer cravings, better sleep, clearer thinking.
That’s exactly what happened for me. That’s what I see happen for the people I work with.

Why Consistency Matters

Blood sugar management isn’t about one perfect meal.
It’s about consistent support over time.
The easier you make it, the more likely you’ll stick with it.

If insulin resistance is getting worse, one of the first things I look at is how often insulin is being called on throughout the day.

Every time you eat, part of that food becomes glucose in your bloodstream.

Glucose signals your pancreas to release insulin.

And when you’re eating and snacking from morning until night, that system may be getting called on over and over again.

One of the things I’ve added to my own routine is chlorogenic acid.

Research suggests chlorogenic acid may help support insulin sensitivity and healthier blood-sugar control.

For me, these drinks also make it easier to stay out of the constant-snacking trap. I use three a day along with a few simple eating rules.

And when insulin spends more time lower, your body has a better opportunity to access stored energy instead of constantly dealing with incoming fuel.

This has become one of the easiest habits in my own metabolic-health routine.

What actually happens when you finish dinner, stop eating for the night, and delay breakfast the next morning?

Your body does not flip into “fat-burning mode” at one exact hour.

But as the fasting window continues, insulin may begin to fall from its post-meal level, and your body may gradually rely more heavily on stored energy.

That is why some people use an overnight fasting window as part of a metabolic-reset approach.

The challenge is that the first few days may not feel easy. This phase passes quickly.

You may notice mild:

• Hunger
• Headaches
• Low energy
• Mild Irritability

That does not mean longer fasting is always better.

It means your body may need time to adjust—and the approach needs to fit your health, medications, and lifestyle.

When I am ready to eat, I do not break my fast with a high-sugar meal.

I follow the FFP rule:

Fiber.

Healthy fat.

Protein.

That combination helps me feel satisfied longer and supports a steadier blood sugar and insulin response after eating.

I also use two specific tools that make the process easier for me.

The first is a yerba mate-based morning drink that contains naturally occurring caffeine and helps me feel more alert during the fasting window.

The second is a seven-source fiber matrix that I take before my first meal to support fullness and a steadier blood sugar response.

These products do not replace healthy food, movement, sleep, or appropriate medical care.

They are tools inside the product-supported metabolic system I personally use to make time-restricted eating simpler and more sustainable.

Comment “TOOLS”, and I’ll send you the details and discount link for the two products I use.

(If you use insulin or medication that can lower blood sugar, speak with your healthcare provider before changing your eating window)

The carbs you love may not be the real problem.

The order in which you eat them may matter more than you realize.

For years, I thought improving insulin resistance meant giving up bread, rice, pasta, pizza, and every other food I enjoyed.

And that is exactly why so many people never even try.

The plan sounds too restrictive, too complicated, and almost impossible to maintain in real life.

But here is what most people are never taught:

Many of the carbohydrates we eat are broken down into glucose very quickly.

That glucose enters the bloodstream, blood sugar rises, and the body releases insulin to move that glucose out of the blood.

When this happens repeatedly throughout the day, insulin may remain elevated and your body can have a harder time accessing stored fat for fuel.

But you do not necessarily have to eliminate every carbohydrate.

You can begin by changing the order in which you eat your food.

🥗 Eat fiber first.

🍗 Have your protein next.

🍚 Eat the starchier carbohydrates afterward, if at all.

Fiber can help you feel fuller and more satisfied, slow the absorption of glucose, and help reduce the size of the blood sugar and insulin rise after your meal.

That can give your blood sugar a better chance to remain in a healthier range while still allowing you to enjoy the foods you love in moderation.

The problem is that meal order alone may not be enough when insulin resistance has already been developing for years.

You may also need a consistent plan that supports fiber intake, healthier blood sugar, meal timing, appetite control, and better insulin sensitivity together.

That is what finally made the difference for me.

I found a simple, natural protocol that helped me reverse my insulin resistance without eliminating all my favorite foods or trying to follow another impossible diet.

Comment **FIBER**, and I’ll share exactly what I used and how the protocol works.

SAVE THIS so you remember what to eat first at your next meal.

Here’s where to start:

Foods that FUEL inflammation — keep your body in constant irritation:

🔹 Refined sugars and processed carbs — these spike blood sugar and trigger inflammatory responses throughout your body

🔹 Seed oils like soybean and corn oil — highly inflammatory and found in most processed foods

🔹 Processed meats and deep fried foods — the biggest culprits contributing to systemic inflammation

Foods that FIGHT inflammation — lower your inflammatory load:

🔹 Omega-3 rich foods — salmon, sardines, chia seeds — research suggests these may help reduce inflammation naturally

🔹 Colorful fruits, vegetables, and high-fiber foods — feed your gut bacteria and help lower inflammation throughout your body

🔹 Intermittent fasting — this ancient practice may also help lower inflammation by giving your digestive system a break

The combination of avoiding inflammatory foods while adding anti-inflammatory foods creates real change in how your body feels.

Start with one or two of these changes this week and notice how you feel.

The order you eat your food can change your blood sugar response — even when the meal itself doesn’t change.

Same meal.
Same calories.
Different order.

If you eat the carbs first, especially on an empty stomach, your blood sugar tends to rise faster and higher.

But if you start with vegetables and protein and save the carbs for last, that fiber and protein help create a buffer that slows down how quickly the glucose hits your bloodstream.

That means the exact same meal can create a much steadier post-meal blood sugar response.

Some studies have shown this simple order change can reduce the post-meal blood sugar spike by up to 40%.

You do not necessarily have to remove the rice or the bread.

Sometimes the easier move is simply to eat it last.

Comment ORDER and I’ll send you the simple meal template I follow.

How to burn belly fat.

This belly fat is actually visceral fat — it wraps around your organs.

And understanding how to shrink it changes everything.

Fat is just excess energy stored in your body.

Whenever we eat, your body has two decisions to make: use carbs as fuel or use stored fat for energy.

This decision is controlled by two hormones — insulin and glucagon.

When insulin is up and glucagon is down, your body uses carbs for energy.

When insulin is down and glucagon is up, your body uses fat for energy.

So to burn belly fat, we need glucagon up ⬆️ and insulin down ⬇️ so we can actually use the stored fat for fuel.

There are two proven ways to do this:

🔹 Practice time-based eating or intermittent fasting.

Every time you eat, your body releases insulin. When you give your body a break from eating, insulin drops, glucagon rises, and your body burns fat for fuel.

🔹 Eat foods that don’t spike insulin as much — fat has very low spiking impact on insulin, protein also has less impact, but sugars and carbs have the highest impact on raising insulin ⬆️.

Prioritizing protein and fats every meal keeps insulin down ⬇️ and allows fat burning.

When you do these two things consistently, you give your body the best chance at getting rid of stored belly fat.
