This morning, during a Peloton run with Kirsten Ferguson, I learned a new acronym that resonated:

FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real

While fear can sometimes protect us from genuine danger, it can also keep us from opportunities for growth, connection, healing, and transformation.

What if some of the limitations we accept are not facts, but stories we've learned to believe?

Where might you need to reevaluate the spaces where fear is limiting you?
At She. Fully Alive., our courses, workshops, retreats, and gatherings are designed to create safe spaces for reflection, learning, and growth. Through compassionate community, evidence-informed practices, and meaningful conversation, we help women examine the beliefs that no longer serve them and step more fully into the lives they are meant to live.
Reflect. Reimagine. Rise.

Boundaries, especially for women, can be interpreted as selfish or inflexible. In reality, boundaries allow us to show up as the best version of ourselves and protect our integrated health.

Ritual is one of humanity’s oldest practices. Across cultures and generations, people have used ritual to mark beginnings and endings, celebrate milestones, process grief, cultivate gratitude, and reconnect with meaning.

In a fast-paced world, many of us move from one experience to the next without pause or closure. Ritual invites us to slow down and intentionally acknowledge what matters. Research continues to show that intentional practices can help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, foster connection, and support healing and emotional well-being.

Ritual does not need to be elaborate to be meaningful. A candle lit with intention; A walk in nature; A moment of reflection at the end of the day; A shared meal. Simple acts can help us feel grounded and connected, and allow us to move forward more fully alive.

Join us on June 13th at the Saint Paul University Club for “Ritual in Everyday Life,” an in-person gathering exploring the ancient wisdom, modern relevance, and everyday practice of ritual for well-being and wholeness. At She. Fully Alive., Memorial Day is more than the unofficial beginning of summer. It is a moment to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who gave their lives in service to others and to the greater good.
Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom, safety, and community are never without cost.
As we gather with family and friends, may we also create space for reflection:
• To remember those who never returned home

• To hold gratitude for the families who carry both pride and grief

• To recognize the importance of connection, compassion, and caring for one another
May we honor their legacy not only with remembrance, but by choosing presence, kindness, courage, and meaningful connection in our own lives.
With gratitude and remembrance,
She. Fully Alive.

Have you ever left a room feeling lighter… or completely drained?

The environments we spend time in—and the energy we bring into them—have a profound impact on our mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being.

In my newest article, I explore:
• why our nervous systems respond to the emotional climate around us
• how chronically unsafe or negative environments create internal complexity
• the importance of both awareness and boundaries
• and the kind of emotional legacy we leave behind through our presence
People may forget our words, but they often remember how they felt around us.
What kind of atmosphere are we helping create and what do we need to live fully alive?

Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt tension, heaviness, or ease before anyone even spoke?Human beings are deeply affected by the emotional climate around them. Research on emotional contagion suggests that we unconsciously absorb and respond to the emotions, tone, and nervous syste...

Are you familiar with the term 'mattering'?

Psychologist Morris Rosenberg and researcher Claire McCullough described mattering as the experience of feeling significant to others—feeling noticed, valued, depended upon, and cared about.

Research increasingly suggests that mattering is far more foundational than many people realize. The need to matter is deeply connected to our mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. In many ways, it functions like emotional oxygen—quietly shaping how we see ourselves, how our nervous systems function, and how we move through relationships and the world.

When we feel valued, respected, and emotionally safe, we are more likely to thrive. When we repeatedly experience dismissal, chronic criticism, emotional neglect, manipulation, or relational invisibility, our entire system can begin to suffer.

This is why mattering is not merely a self-esteem issue. It is an integrated health issue. Check my blog article to learn more!

For many women, boundaries are not difficult because they lack strength. They are difficult because they were conditioned to prioritize harmony, caregiving, and the needs of others—often at the expense of themselves.

People pleasers, highly empathetic individuals, caregivers, and those who grew up in environments where love felt connected to self-sacrifice may especially struggle with setting healthy limits. When your nervous system has learned that keeping others comfortable keeps you safe, boundaries can feel uncomfortable… even when they are necessary. If this is you, extend yourself compassion. Learning to set boundaries is not selfish. It is part of healing; part of reclaiming your voice; part of becoming fully alive.

Perhaps most importantly—find your tribe. Find spaces where you can safely bring your whole self, without reservation. Healthy community honors mutual care, respect, and space for each person to be whole.
