With the Flu reaching epidemic proportions in some states it is really important to support breastfeeding moms. Especially brand new moms who need the support to keep going. Fresh breast milk directly from mother to baby is the best milk for baby. If mom has to be away from baby fresh expressed milk that has not been refrigerated is healthier for baby than refrigerated milk as long as the fresh milk has not been sitting out for too long see : https://www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding/recommendations/handling_breastmilk.htm
Frozen milk is not as healthy as refrigerated but all of those milks: directly fed, fresh expressed, refrigerated and frozen are all better than formula. But keep in mind right now in particular to try to direct feed or give fresh expressed if possible. It can't always be done but try to look at your best options to protect your little one. And Mamas don't forget to take care of yourself too! Cyberhugs to all!

Nursing mothers and caretakers of breastfed infants and children can maintain the high quality of expressed breast milk and the health of the baby.
