Mike McKinney is a retired first responder. He served in several capacities and roles over the course of his career. Originally from Springfield Illinois, he and his wife decided to move to follow their kids an grandkids to central NC at the close of his career. Mike is the co-director of the NC State Chapter of the 52 Hike Challenge; the Chief Hiking Officer for the Triangle Hero Hikers; and a NC Waterfall Keeper.
