And the Emmy goes to....well, not me. My new friend Ken Fay is a story teller and won this actual real Emmy for his work on a documentary about the aftermath of Sandy Hook told through the eyes of a dog. Ken is helping local businesses connect their heart-felt story to their audience. What an amazing skill! Hoping some of the Emmy magic rubs off on me. Thanks, Ken for this "winning" experience!

I hate competition. The risk of failure is mortifying. Here's why I'm wrong:

It's empowering to know that you CAN do hard stuff (and more often than you think).
Competition can drive improvement and growth.
Competition does not have to be adversarial.

So...I joined my first powerlifting competition in October with Ignite Fitness Apex . Am I scared? Yep. Am I doing it anyway? Yep!

This week we tested for our benchmark lifting numbers. Here's my deadlift coming in at 230lbs.
