Sometimes we have to create space to sit with ourselves long enough to answer the questions we've been avoiding. The ones we already know have the potential to change our lives.

We spend so much time responding to everyone and everything around us that we rarely pause to ask ourselves what we truly need to feel safe, supported, and grounded.

The Root Chakra is associated with our foundation. It speaks to our relationship with safety, stability, belonging, trust, and our most basic needs. When that foundation feels unstable, it can become difficult to slow down, receive support, trust ourselves, or feel fully present in our own lives.

Sacred Movement: Grounded is an invitation to reconnect with that foundation through embodiment. Together we'll move, breathe, reflect, journal, be in community, and create space to acknowledge what has been asking for our attention. We'll explore where instability may be living within us, gently move with what arises, and make room for greater clarity, presence, and connection.

Join us on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Gateway Arts District, Brentwood, Maryland. Early Bird tickets are $25 through August 17th and include herbal tea and a Sacred Movement experience accompanied by botanical offerings.

The Summer 2026 edition marks the first printed issue of The Lab Magazine, a publication of the Gateway Media Arts Lab dedicated to documenting, celebrating, and amplifying the people, places, and stories that shape the Gateway Arts District.

One of the goals of the Gateway Media Arts Lab is to capture the essence of our creative community, its history, culture, experiences, and the artists, entrepreneurs, organizations, and changemakers whose work helps sustain and strengthen our creative ecosystem.
