I am a mother of 3 children and the wife of a retired United States Air Force Veteran. I directly breastfed my 3rd child for 3 years 2 months, and pumped for 3 years while at work. I have personally used many different pumps on the market today and enjoy helping mothers find their best fl**ge fit. One of the most common questions I was asked by patients in the hospital. Here is one method. I like to cup my hand to avoid startling baby. Gentle pats are great. There are many techniques you can use. A prenatal or postpartum Lactation consult can be a good time to review these.

Remember if you forget to plug your fridge/freezer back in after defrosting or if your electric goes out in a storm frozen breast milk that still has ice crystals can be refrozen.
