An experiment to make it by doing what you love - in a very unconventional way. It’s a little bit scary, putting this idea out there, that people can request astral hugs online and send donations for the spiritual burst of love.
It reminds me of when I first started busking, playing music for tips on the streets of Amsterdam. I could jam in public no problem, but as soon as it came time to put out the hat, I became a performer, subject to the judgment of anyone who passed by. I remember how hard my heart started beating when I first pulled out my instrument. I worried what people would think of my public declaration that my entertaining service was worth paying for.
Now I sit in a similar position, but this time I’m not playing an instrument on the street, I’m sitting in nature meditating. And I’m reaching out to friends and random people in cyberspace.
The idea for this unique concept arose when I heard of a man, an artist, who, for $1, offers to think about anyone for 1 minute. You can send a request on his website, and he sends you an e-mail when he starts thinking about you and he sends another e-mail when he stops.
I liked this idea, but my spiritual endeavors have introduced to me the idea that when you create by thinking you also create the opposite of what you intend because of the dual nature of the two hemispheres of the brain. This is illustrated when we pay attention to how worked up we get when we overthink a problem. Alternatively if we create from the heart, which is one whole, we create from oneness. To apply this, consider that thinking about peace might lead to peace in one way and war in another, but feeling the love of peace in one’s heart will lead to peace in whole.
So instead of thinking about someone for a minute, I realized I could send someone love...
