I feel so honored to be working alongside these amazing folks at Morningstar Healing Arts.
Together, we weave knowledge and training in modern medicine with ancient healing wisdom, and the heart and soul of Mother Earth.
Add a sprinkle of love and grace, and out comes Magic.
I am so grateful to have professional work that also fulfills much of my spiritual path.
I am so blessed to be sharing this path with my wife, Sue Morningstar, women’s health, nurse practitioner, my daughter, Dr. Aja Morningstar, board certified family physician and our wonderful office staff: our office manager Janite, receptionist, Michelle, receptionist and medical assistant, Sara, medical assistants, Brooke and Magda, staff herbalist, Sam, and Eden, our nutritionist and health coach.
And so grateful for our hundreds of patients that we have served now for 30 years, combining the best of both worlds, traditional medicine and natural healing.

Grateful beyond words to work with these amazing people at Morningstar Healing Arts, our integrative family medicine practice in Ashland.
Sue Mauer Morningstar and I have shared this healing work for over 30 years. And we are so delighted that our daughter Dr. Aja Morningstar, who is board-certified in both family and integrative medicine is now practicing with us full-time.
As our practice, expand we’ve added a new medical assistant, and a new receptionist.

Today is Tisha b’Av, the ninth day of the month of Av in the Hebrew calendar.

It’s a day dedicated to grief and lamentation, focusing on the destruction of Jerusalem and the burning of our sacred temple: not once but twice, many centuries ago.

Today, many of us have opened our eyes and see the world itself burning.
We realize that this biblical story is not only about some ancient catastrophe, but also is unfolding here and now.

Our wise elders teach that Jerusalem burned because of “reckless hatred” (‏שנאת חינם).
I propose that the remedy for this now, as always, is “reckless love”.

It can be terrifying to watch the world burn, wondering: what will happen to us, to our children and our grandchildren?
And it’s so easy to fall into apathy or despair.

As I meditate on this today, on Tisha b’Av, the image of the Phoenix, rising from the ashes, comes to me very strongly.
For the Phoenix, to arise, for the world to be renewed, perhaps first it must burn.

A new day is dawning at Morningstar Healing Arts!
We bid farewell to our beloved office manager Mimi Warneke, who is retiring after 17 years of devoted service to our patients.
And congratulate Janite Lee, who, after 12 years of dedicated service in our front office is now stepping up to manage our medical practice.
We welcome Sara Hamilton to our front office staff as the newest member of our healing team.
This year we honor our amazing medical assistant, Paris Geiken, for 22 years of wise, loving and devoted care.
And we are thrilled that Monica Kyle has thrived so beautifully as the junior medical assistant on our team.
As always, Howard, Sue and Aja Morningstar continue to offer our full range of integrative family medicine services.
Our awesome herbalist, nutritionist and health coach Sam Roberts rounds out our team of healers.
It is our honor to have served you, our beloved community for the last 27 years.
