Happy Monday! Join with Dr. Patricia Kelly Marsh, MD for today’s in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Is there anything you can actually do to lower your risk of breast cancer? Yes!
While age, genetics, and family history are beyond our control, several lifestyle choices can help reduce risk. Maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically active, limiting or avoiding alcohol, and breastfeeding when possible may all make a difference. If you use hormone replacement therapy, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Remember, reducing your risk doesn't eliminate it. Know your family history and stay current with recommended screenings.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, don't just think pink. Think prevention!
