When I opened up my brands I thought about what being Takiyah meant to me.
Having Fibromyalgia, lupus and when I dealt with again for the 4th time this year it affected so much. I am ok with the pain but when it come to my appearance it mentally affects me.
My weight was always like a yo-yo. I would wake up swollen from inflammation. My face would get fat, eyes dark, hair falls out with every flare. Looking like myself to the world was important to be. I hated when people would look at me with pity. So I was always determined to always look better than I feel.
Lipgloss became my obsession. My lips would always crack and lipstick would produce a white residue. I hated it because I suffered with Dry mouth off and on from Chemo and medication I took. So I created Timeless Reflections Cosmetics all natural lipgloss that heals my lips and do not preduce the hated white residue.
I love to crochet so I love to wear hats during the winter. But to keep my hair from drying out, when I do wear my hats I inserted a silk cap inside which created the Timeless Reflections Creations
I love to keep warm during those cold nights when my nerve pain is triggered by the cold. So blankets was something I chose to do with my mom to help one keep warm affordable. The Gifted Hands' Project was created for adults and babies.
Accessories have always been my go to. No matter what Jewelry makes me feel womanly even during thise times makeup can't hide my swelling or I don't have the energy. Earring contours my face. Necklaces gives you that sparkle you need.
My whole essence of what I do and where I put my energy, is about women like myself who struggles everyday, but refuse to give in. From financially to physically. When I show pictures of myself it's never for vain purposes. It is to show that even in my feelings inwardly, I show up my best self and no matter what you can too. My grandmother would always say, " No matter how you feel you look your best."
