Many of you know that I spend a significant amount of time rescuing Akitas from kill shelters in SoCal. I do so in cooperation with rescues! The studio has sponsored Akitas in the past but we can no longer do this alone. With the influx of Akitas in the shelter system , rescues are at maximum capacity with dwindling resources.

Bolt and lightening were found roaming the streets of Corona. They are quite the pair. Sweet , playful and big. I was greeted with kisses after i bated them with treats. So we would love to bail these two dogs out and place them with a rescue that can find an appropriate home but funds are extremely low and they are at full capacity.

If you are in the position to contribute to their Gofundme, it would give them a lifeline to make it out of the shelter alive. Because of the breed we place Akitas often with a paid foster to minimize risk of something bad to happen. We only use breed experienced fosters. These two will require extensive funding. With a very low adoption rate we anticipate these two staying with us for months.

Please help us help them… As always pay it forward ! Let’s help those who cannot help themselves as this is our moral obligation as a civilized society.

Pilates Art Center would love to help this “ tiny but mighty” Akita find a foster or adopter.

Weighing in at only 41lbs, this lit Powerhouse is rather on the small side. Rescued just hours before his euthanasia date at Seaaca this lit fluffer has a lot of love to give. We are looking for a foster with no other small pets in the household. Danielle’s Husky’s To The Rescue has him with a temporary foster but they are in the process of moving and can only hold him until the end of the month.

Chewbacca is truly the sweetest fluffer who loves nothing more than running after toys, doing zoomies, playing catch me if you can with his person and lounging in a sunny spot on the coach or yard.

The rescue believes that Chewbacca would do fine in an apartment situation but def would prefer access to outdoor space like a yard or patio.

Chewbacca is quite the gentleman and very affectionate pup.if you think you can foster this lit fella please reach out to me as I am handling local placements for the rescue. For inquiries please text or call 678 977 3499.

For me Pilates and dogs are my life and I have devoted a significant amount of my available time to rescue Akitas. Here and there I do ask for support as the shelters are inundated with Akitas throughout Cali.

Welcome sweet Cash, the Akita ( now Bubba )!
Today was Bubba’s “Gotcha Day”! We promised Handsome better days are ahead after being a
alerted by a networker about a young a Akita at San Jacinto shelter who was in need of a helping hand.

Bubba is a young, handsome ,affectionate, playful and calm American Akita. We estimate him to be around 2 years old. With his nails being trimmed, teeth perfectly white with no build up and a coat as soft as silk, he was def well taken care of before entering the shelter. Strangely no one ever came looking for him!

While Bubba is off to a better future we’ll ask for help getting him there. He is currently boarded until and if we can find him a foster home.

Boarding, food and vetting isnt free. If you can spare a few $$$ Handsome Bubba and we would greatly appreciated it. He did not receive much social media coverage while at the shelter. Thus there are few pledges to help us offset the expenses associated with his care.

We definitely could use your support to help us give him what he needs. Our new vet , PetVets in San Dimas will neuter and gastropexi him once he is done with his treatment for Giardia.
