Juneteenth always reminds me that progress isn't something we inherit—it’s something we continue building.

I'm grateful for the sacrifices, perseverance, and resilience of those who came before us and for the opportunities that allow me to serve as a nurse, teach future nurses, and build something of my own through HERS.

One thing I've learned throughout my career is that success means very little if we don't use it to encourage, support, and create opportunities for others.

Today, I'm choosing gratitude.

Gratitude for those who paved the way.
Gratitude for the people who believed in me.
And gratitude for the opportunity to continue growing, serving, and hopefully making a positive impact on others along the way.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth. ❤️💛💚

When I first became a nurse, I thought healthcare was mostly about clinical skills.

The longer I've worked in healthcare, the more I've realized it's often about solving problems.

A patient can't afford medication.
A family member can't be present.
Transportation falls through.
A discharge plan changes unexpectedly.

Every day, healthcare professionals are finding ways to bridge gaps that don't appear in textbooks.

That mindset has stayed with me throughout my career and eventually inspired me to start HERS.

Sometimes helping people isn't about having all the answers. It's about being willing to find a solution.

Building a business while continuing to work in healthcare has been one of the most challenging — and rewarding — experiences of my life.

There have been long days.
Early mornings.
Late nights.
A lot of learning.
A lot of problem solving.

But there has also been a lot of purpose behind it.

HERS was built from seeing real healthcare challenges firsthand and wanting to create solutions that genuinely help support patients and healthcare operations.

Still growing.
Still learning.
Still building.

And incredibly grateful for everyone supporting this journey so far. 💙

One thing healthcare has taught me is this:

Some patients are carrying challenges we never fully see.

Transportation.
Mobility issues.
Financial stress.
Lack of support systems.
Fear.
Exhaustion.

Sometimes simply getting to an appointment requires an incredible amount of effort.

That perspective has stayed with me throughout my nursing career and continues to influence how I approach HERS today.

A little professionalism, patience, communication, and compassion can make a much bigger difference than people realize.

One thing people outside of healthcare may never fully see is how much coordination happens behind the scenes every single day.

Schedules change.
Patients reschedule.
Facilities juggle multiple priorities.
Transportation issues happen.
Discharges shift unexpectedly.

Healthcare teams are constantly adapting in real time.

That’s part of why communication and dependability matter so much in healthcare logistics.

When I founded HERS, I wanted to build a company that truly understood the operational side of patient care — because I’ve worked inside those environments and know how quickly small issues can snowball into larger problems.

I don’t think I can separate being a nurse from how I run this business.

Even in logistics and transportation, I still think like a clinician.

I think about:

• patient stress
• treatment timing
• missed follow-ups
• communication gaps
• operational pressure on healthcare teams

That mindset shapes how HERS operates every day.

This business was never just about transportation for me.
It was about helping support healthcare in a way that reduces delays and helps patients continue receiving the care they need.

And honestly, seeing the support from the community while building this company has meant more than people probably realize. 💙

Working in healthcare taught me something early:

Care doesn’t stop once patients leave the building.
Discharge is not the finish line.

For many patients, it’s actually the beginning of a very complicated process:

• follow-up appointments
• medications
• transportation
• rehab
• additional testing
• ongoing treatment plans

And when coordination breaks down, patients often feel it first.

HERS was built around understanding those gaps from a clinical perspective — not just a transportation perspective.

Because sometimes the difference between delayed care and continued care is simply whether the next step happens smoothly.

One conversation that has stayed with me involved a patient who simply said:

“I didn’t know how I was going to make it there.”

Not because they didn’t want care.
Not because they were noncompliant.

They just didn’t have dependable transportation.

In healthcare, we sometimes underestimate how often transportation becomes the silent barrier behind delayed care.

As a nurse, I saw how quickly missed appointments could turn into worsening conditions, preventable admissions, and frustrated patients trying their best to keep up with treatment plans.

That perspective is one of the reasons I created HERS.

Sometimes helping patients receive care starts long before they walk through the door.

Healthcare doesn’t suddenly pause at 5 PM.

Patients still need transportation.
Facilities still need coordination.
Deliveries still need to move.
Care still continues.

Behind healthcare is an entire operational system working constantly to keep things functioning.

That’s why dependable logistics partners matter.

HERS is proud to support healthcare movement across Metro Atlanta with professionalism, communication, and care.

HERS wasn’t created from theory.
It was built from firsthand experience seeing where patients and healthcare operations struggle.

The missed appointments.
The discharge delays.
The transportation issues.
The coordination breakdowns.

Sometimes the smallest operational gap creates the biggest disruption in care.

That understanding continues to shape how we approach transportation and logistics support today.
