My only baby boy is growing up 🥹💙🎉

Kumasi has a big personality, runs wild and free so I take all the cuddle time I can get! At the same time, he’s real chill. He loves cars, monster trucks, basketball and learning practical skills with mommy and daddy 🚗🏎️🏀

Help me wish our baby boy, Kumasi Nasir a big Happy Birthday 🎉💙

Kumasi “Kumo” Nasir turns 3 today 🎉. He stayed in the portal for 43 weeks/5 days, and breastfed for 18 months. He is the last baby of the Bryant tribe and I can’t believe he’s growing so fast…seems like I just had him, mommy’s little Ta**us twin 🥹💙✨

Daddy, mommy, and your Big Sisters LOVE you so much 🎉

I mother hard, so when it’s my time to play…I play! Cheers to all the amazing hardworking-multitalented/tasking mamas out here 🥂

Whenever there’s an opportunity for me to have some “mommy me” time or hang with my girls, I take it without any guilt attached. This is my formula to healthy mental motherhood ✨

I have to recharge🔋so I can be 1000% for my tribe 💜

Making new friends at this stage of life hits different, and that’s okay 💜

We’re choosing connection with intention now. It’s okay to gently open up and align with people who truly see you, respect your boundaries, and pour into you.

New friendships can still find you… right on time ✨

The Forever Girlfriends Brand is a Membership-based Organization for Business-Oriented Women. We curate events, and give back through community service.

It’s not just “in your head”, it’s in your nervous system. White Coat Syndrome is real… and it deserves more compassion, and not dismissal.

Now, imagine experiencing this while in labor…

It’s that moment your blood pressure spikes the second you walk into a medical setting. Your heart races, body tenses, and breath shortens… that’s not “just nerves” taking over, that’s your body responding to stress, past experiences, and sometimes even generational trauma tied to healthcare.

For many, especially in marginalized communities, medical spaces don’t always feel safe. So the body does what it’s designed to do: PROTECT!

What this means:
• Your elevated reading may not reflect your everyday health
• Your experience in medical/clinical spaces matters

What you can do:
🌱 Ask for a few minutes to breathe before vitals are taken
🌱 Request a second reading at the end of your visit
🌱 Track your blood pressure at home for a more accurate picture
🌱 Invite your Doula to a pre and postnatal appointment

Healthcare should feel like care, not fear. Let’s normalize slowing down, listening to our bodies, and creating safer, more respectful healthcare experiences for everyone.

I love the study shared from the “Birthing From Within” book. It’s about the impact of Doula support at a birth. It involved Doula’s being active, hands-on with verbal encouragement, Doula’s sitting quietly in the room being an observer with hands-off and no verbal communication, and lastly, not having a Doula present at all (study is on the last slide).

The study still shows that no matter what, having a Doula present for your birth has a safer outcome compared to not having Doula support at all.

Doulas, Birthworkers, Birth Sister, or however you choose to be called in this field, either way, YOU ARE ESSENTIAL and little do you know, your energy makes a difference. It’s important as Doulas that we always maintain a level of professionalism, integrity, respect, and love for our clients. When these principles are activated, trust is earned 💜🌱

Let’s work together to change the narrative ✨

The Better Birth Worker Full-Spectrum Traditional Birth Worker Training is open for enrollment. Follow for more details.
