We’re building something different for Radiologic Technologists Week in Atlanta.

And before registration has even opened, we’re already seeing interest from imaging professionals both inside and outside Georgia.

We’ve also heard from medical imaging technology programs interested in bringing students.

That tells me this idea is hitting a real need.

So I want to ask the technologists here:

What would make a Rad Tech Week experience feel worth showing up for?

Not what looks good on a flyer.

What would actually make you say, “I need to be there”?

A lot of radiologic technologists don’t want out of imaging. They want out of the version of imaging they’re currently living.

There are more “in-between” careers than most of us were ever shown.

I’m Chaun a technologist of 24 years and I began my career doing Bone density. I recently attended the house of delegates with the ASRT and set in on a bone density breakout room.

It was amazing seeing how many people still are doing bone density!

I look forward to being a part of this group and always open to learn more about where bone density is now.

My credentials are diagnostic, CT, MRI, I host a Radiology podcast, I wrote a Radiology children’s book and I make content about medical imaging on social media.

Thanks again for letting me be a part of the group!

Have you ever looked at someone with a bigger title and thought…

“They must know more than me.”

The hardest part about growing in radiology isn’t always learning a new skill.

Sometimes it’s recognizing that the skills you already use every day actually count.

Training new technologists. Troubleshooting equipment. Solving workflow problems. Being the person everyone calls when something goes wrong.

You may call it “just doing your job.”

Another employer may call it leadership, training, operations, problem-solving, or clinical expertise.
And that shift in how you see your experience can change what you believe you’re qualified to do next.

If you’ve ever wondered where your radiology experience could take you, this is for you.

How many times have you heard, can you squeeze one more patient in? Before you ever had time to eat.

Radiology technologies have normalized eating lunch at the scanner, working through Payne and putting our own bodies last.

But career longevity requires more than knowing how to position, skin and protect our patience. We also have to protect the body during the work.

Pilates is becoming part of how I take care of mine.

Because your career shouldn’t cost you your health, or a rotator cuff, or carpal tunnel.

Send this to the Radiology technologies who keep saying, I’ll take care of myself after this shift.
