Volunteer Spotlight: Ruth Falkenstein
For Ruth, Rockin’ for the Cure is more than an event it’s a labor of love.
Ruth’s connection to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation runs deep. Morris, Ruth’s Brother, was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at just 13 years old and her parents helped found the Atlanta Chapter.
After Morris passed in 2016, Ruth wanted to create something that honored his strength, his love of music, and his fight. What began as Brews & Blues grew into Rockin’ for the Cure — an annual event bringing people together through music, community, and hope while raising critical funds to find cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Over the years, Ruth and her husband David have poured their hearts into growing Rockin’ for the Cure, ensuring every dollar raised supports the Foundation’s mission. But for Ruth, the greatest reward is knowing that Morris’ story continues to inspire others. This year, Ruth hopes to welcome even more members of the community to Rockin’ for the Cure not just those who knew Morris, but anyone looking for a fun afternoon filled with music, connection, and purpose.
Thank you, Ruth, for your dedication and support!
