Letโ€™s talk about those โ€œoh sh*t itโ€™s 5:30โ€ weeknight dinners.

You know the ones.

You look at the clock, everyoneโ€™s hangry, and suddenly you realize the dinner plan isโ€ฆ there is no plan. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Some weeks Iโ€™m on my A-game. I meal plan, grocery shop, prep on the weekend, and things run smoothly.

But this post is about the other weeks.

The ones where Monday hits and youโ€™re just trying to get dinner on the table.

Here are a few things that usually save me on those nights:

1. Default to โ€œprotein + carb + something green.โ€
I stop trying to be creative and instead just try to check these 3 boxes.

2. Check the freezer + pantry.
Between frozen meat, frozen veggies, quick rice, and canned beans - I can usually find something to check all the boxes.

PRO TIP โžก๏ธ I am obsessed with using sauces to spice things up!! Buffalo, teriyaki, BBQ, salad dressings - these can all turn basic ingredients into a quick meal that seems fancier than it is.

4. Ask ChatGPT.
Sometimes I literally tell it a few things I have:
โ€œI have ground beef, mushrooms, spinach and riceโ€ฆ what can I make in 10 minutes?โ€

And it comes to the rescue every time!

Coffeeโ€ฆ but give it superpowers โ˜•๏ธโœจ

I love my morning coffee. Itโ€™s a ritual for me. The smell... the taste... even the two โ€œslowโ€ minutes I spend making it. Thereโ€™s something about it that signals itโ€™s time to get ready to take on the day. Iโ€™m not even that affected by caffeine (my 23andMe confirmed this lol) - itโ€™s more about the ritual.

Iโ€™m also a maximizerโ€ฆ so I like to get some bang for my buck ;)

Hereโ€™s what I add to my morning brew:

1๏ธโƒฃ Collagen: to support joints, skin, hair, and nails (especially helpful in this postpartum season with some โ€œfunโ€ side effects, ha).

2๏ธโƒฃ Creatine: for muscle strength and recovery. (Itโ€™s not just for bodybuilders like I used to think ๐Ÿ˜‰)

3๏ธโƒฃ And Iโ€™ll usually add a few tablespoons of canned organic coconut milk () for a creamy, dairy-free vibe that keeps me fuller longer.

I used to throw all these supplements into a daily smoothieโ€ฆ but I recently broke up with my blender. More on that another day ๐Ÿ˜…

For now, this is my simple way to fuel my mornings in a balanced way.

Coffee is a surprisingly great base for most supplements. Using it this way has helped me a ton - maybe itโ€™ll help you too. โ˜•๏ธ

Getting back into the gym after being out of it for a while is HARD.

I used to work out for an hour or more, 4โ€“5 times a week, like it ainโ€™t no thang. But that was YEARS ago.

Now? Between two young kiddos, not enough sleep, and just trying to keep all the family/work/life balls in the air, somewhere along the way that level of commitment at the gym had to take a step back.

But now a few months postpartum, I am trying to get back into it - with a โ€œnew normal.โ€ And dang, itโ€™s TOUGH to get started again.

So I made just 3 rules for myself:

1๏ธโƒฃ Just GET there.๏ฟฝRight now, making the time and actually SHOWING UP to the gym really is the biggest win - even if the workout is only 20 minutes (sometimes thatโ€™s all I get).

2๏ธโƒฃ Clear my mind.๏ฟฝI start with light, โ€œmindlessโ€ cardio to reset my brain and check out from all my other responsibilities - and just focus on being in my body. Sometimes I leave after just thisโ€ฆ and I still consider it a win.

3๏ธโƒฃ Expect SLOW gains.๏ฟฝThis one is hard for me. Iโ€™m impatient ๐Ÿ˜… We live in an instant-gratification world, and itโ€™s easy to get discouraged when results arenโ€™t immediate. But real strength takes time. Iโ€™ve heard it can take six months of consistency to truly see noticeable changes.

SIX MONTHS. Dang. But instead of hoping for quick results, Iโ€™m focusing on small wins from moving my body regularly - like sleeping better, feeling a little stronger, having more energy.

Iโ€™m saying no to the โ€œmake up for lost timeโ€ mentality and instead aiming for just consistency, and trying to find peace in the reality that fitness doesnโ€™t look the way it used to for me.

If youโ€™re in a rebuilding season too - postpartum or otherwise - gently remind yourself that it will take time.

And keep showing up anyway. ๐Ÿ’ช Youโ€™ve got this! ๐Ÿฉต

Hi. Itโ€™s been a minute. ๐Ÿฉต

A lot has changed in the past year.

-I sunset CLEAN.FIT Box.๏ฟฝ-I had my second baby.๏ฟฝ-We decided to move back to Austin.๏ฟฝ-Iโ€™m about to turn 40 (still wild to say).

And there have been several other big life changes tooโ€ฆ but Iโ€™ll save those for another day.

Somewhere in all of that, I realized something:

I just donโ€™t have the time I used to.

I tried to fight it for a while and just try to white knuckle through, [barely] holding all the balls in the air.

But after several sleepless nights and a weird skin inflammation thing that was definitely related to stress and sleep deprivation, it became clear - that just was no longer sustainable.

So instead of trying to keep up with an old version of myselfโ€ฆ๏ฟฝ
I decided my 2026 focus is to SIMPLIFY.

Hereโ€™s a few examples:

-Iโ€™ve been opting for more power walksโ€ฆ. And fewer long gym sessions.๏ฟฝ-I said bye bye to my blender (and AM smoothies), and hello store-bought green juice.๏ฟฝ-Breakfast is now hard-boiled eggs and batch-made protein cookies.๏ฟฝ-Two-ingredient crockpot dinners are on repeat.

I am consciously choosing less pressure and perfection and am leaning into the โ€œeasiest versionโ€ of well, pretty much everything in my life.

Wellness still matters deeply to me.๏ฟฝ
But now more than ever, it has to fit real life.

Thatโ€™s what this next chapter of CLEAN.FIT is about.

Same heart. Same mission. Just simpler. More realistic. More sustainable.

๐Ÿ’ SQUISHIES (aka Healthy Jello!) ๐Ÿ’

This super simple, FUN, protein-packed treat is loved by our whole family!

Our amazing long-time nanny graced our fam with this recipe and now itโ€™s one of our go-tos.

Itโ€™s easy, delicious, and good for growing bodies (and ours too!)!

My 5yo LOVES helping make these, and honestlyโ€ฆ I love having a bowl in the fridge for an easy grab-and-go snack. ๐Ÿ™Œ

INGREDIENTS:
โ€ข 1.5 cups juice
โ€ข 5 scoops/tbsp grass-fed gelatin
โ€ข 2 tbsp honey
โ€ข Pinch of salt

DIRECTIONS:
1๏ธโƒฃ Add juice to a pot (donโ€™t turn the stove on yet ๐Ÿ˜).
2๏ธโƒฃ Sprinkle gelatin over the top and let it โ€œbloomโ€ for a few minutes until dissolved (stir if needed)
3๏ธโƒฃ Turn heat to medium and warm until the mixture turns to liquid. Stir along the way.
4๏ธโƒฃ Remove from heat and stir in honey + salt.
5๏ธโƒฃ Pour into a baking dish and let cool in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
6๏ธโƒฃ Slice, pull apart, and enjoy! Stores in the fridge up to 2 weeks.
