You can be smart or pretty

You can be smart or sexy

You can be smart or have big emotions

You can be smart or be good at sport

You can be smart or have a boyfriend

You can be smart or be the life of the party

…but you can’t be both (or all)

For all the people — especially women — who know you are brilliant and gifted in MANY ways, but believe you have to pick a lane …

… and oftentimes that lane that casts a shadow on who you really are

Or you pick the lane that lets you excel, but you apologize for, hide, or downplay your success so others won’t feel insecure around you

For all the people who feel like you’re not good enough BECAUSE you don’t seem to fit into the mainstream world because of your different abilities — but when you talk about this you’re told you’re being ungrateful and “people would kill to have the talent you do” … which only makes you want to hide yourself more

I see you
I get you

I see you as you now see how these same impossible standards affect your talented and gifted children — and you do everything in your power to protect them from the embarrassment you once felt for having a big mind, big heart, big talents, and big success.

And yet — despite all you do — you still see them purposely dumbing themselves down, or apologizing for winning (again), or crying when they aren’t invited to a friend’s party because they are the tender, nerdy kid

I want you to know this is a safe space to talk about how the more you stand out — the less you feel like you belong

And it’s not wrong for you to minimize your successes and want to belong

This is very human — we need to belong as much as we need oxygen

It’s not wrong to feel like you aren’t good enough as you look at the mainstream world from the outside, secretly wishing you could “just be normal” for once

It’s not wrong to talk about this, even if you think you sound arrogant or ungrateful

You get to be ALL of the things at once — smart, talented, gorgeous, empathetic.

AND you get to wish you belonged somewhere that people accepted you for ALL of you.

That place is here. You belong here.

If ever you’ve found yourself in this paradox of success — I see you.

And I invite you to talk about it more —

✔️The embarrassment when you excel AGAIN
✔️The fear when you make more $ than your parents
✔️The heartbreak when you receive backhanded compliments

I invite you to shift the narrative that because the world defines you by your accomplishments (for better or worse) — being human and vulnerable WITHIN those accomplishments is wrong

It doesn’t make you ungrateful or someone with scarcity mindset who lacks perspective or has a mental health issue when you experience these things

No, it makes you a human with an ever-expanding heart, consciousness, and light - who above all else desires to be loved, seen and held for ALL of you

You don’t have to be bulletproof simply because you reach the pinnacle

You belong at this pinnacle - AND you deserve to be seen and celebrated not only for your gifts, but also for the deep humanness that lives among them

One of my favorite quotes sums this up perfectly —

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us

We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you

We are all meant to shine, as children do

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”

Some days life just hits you all at once — the ups AND the downs, the twists AND the straightaways

And there is literally nothing you can do to prevent that freight train

But what you can do — on the days where life is otherwise boring, uneventful, or pretty okay-ish

Is allow even the smallest glimmers of emotion to simply just stir in your heart without needing to change or fix or release or transcend or heal them — be they joy, sadness, anger, frustration, or shame

Allow them into your full embrace, let them know they are welcome here. Ask them what they are here to tell you.

And it’s these little daily holy experiences — the heartbreak you feel when you read about someone whose life was taken too soon

The hope you feel when you open the news and see something GOOD is happening

The joy you feel when you watch a Reel or Tiktok of a golden retriever doing a belly flop into a pool

The anger and disgust you feel when you see what some people say online in the comments section about people you care about

The shame you feel when you finally have just enough courage to ask a really hard question (but it’s still incredibly vulnerable to even open your mouth)

These moments — and so many more like them — may feel big or small or somewhere in between

But they deserve your full attention and care, tending to them as if they are the most sacred treasure chests

That way when you are hit all at once on a day where you didn’t expect it —

A day where you are on top of the world one minute.

And then you come crashing down the next.

You will be prepared hold BOTH sacredly, equally.

And they don’t have to cancel each other out.

It’s how you show up for yourself in the more mundane moments that prepares you for the freight train kind of days.

Don’t let those little moments pass you by in your daily rush

And make no mistake — tending to those moments doesn’t mean you’re being dramatic, and it also won’t prevent the onslaught of emotion and the rollercoaster on the “big” days of high highs and low lows.

But what they will do is strengthen the muscle to gracefully and be fully present on the holy ride 🎢

WHAT ARE WE MISSING HERE?

When you finally launched your business, you got some referrals right off the bat. 💪

And because you’re really good at what you do -- those clients got better really fast.
But then...the faucet slowed to a drip.

Even though it’s been 6 months and you’re making some money, you’re only seeing a trickle of new clients at best.

You’ve been doing ALL OF THE THINGS to market yourself and get new clients:

📌A beautiful SEO-optimized website.
📌That BOSS Instagram course. And you’re definitely on the Clubhouse bandwagon.
📌Marketing to physicians / yoga teachers / coaches / midwives
📌Meditation and vision boarding and crystals to stay grounded and aligned

But some weeks literally nobody calls or DMs you...even though you’re asking them to. 😲

You feel flabbergasted…

“Why is this not working? Why doesn’t anyone see the value in what I do?”

UGH. MY FRIEND. I CAN TOTALLY RELATE TO THIS.

When I started my PT practice out of my guest bedroom, I thought I was hot stuff.
I thought if I was so amazing at being a PT, then with enough work and trial and error, I’d be amazing at this biz thing, too.

And some things were working:

🤩My instagram was popping.
🤩My website was awe inspiring.
🤩Everyone said what I was doing was SO needed.
🤩I landed some clutch marketing meetings.

I remember sitting in a physician’s office. In my old job, I was the go-to referral for him -- especially for the tough ones that needed hand holding and out-of-the-box care.

I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A SUREFIRE PIPELINE FOR MY BUSINESS.

👉But then he asked the dreaded question…

“Why would someone want to pay cash for this when they can get the same care somewhere else AND use their insurance?"

THE….SAME!!! …. CARE!?!?!?!?!?! 😡 🤦

With resignation, I left a pile of beautifully branded, foil-lined business cards with his assistant... which probably just ended up in the trash. 💔

Disheartening as this was at that moment, I knew I didn’t have time to let it get me down.

I knew in my heart if I just did the right things and had the right tools, I wouldn’t fail. I never failed at anything. I had no evidence in my life to prove otherwise.

After a bit more trial and error (and a few costly mistakes), I realized why doing ALL OF THE THINGS wasn’t working.

95% of the clients who DID come to me didn’t come from…

❌Growing my likes or followers or Instagram engagement.
❌A giant referral network of physicians or practitioners.
❌Meditation and manifestation
❌“Selling myself” or using the newest, shiniest sales and marketing strategy.

Those things certainly made me feel like I was doing something to move forward.

🍥But I was actually just walking myself in circles.

😞 I felt like a total sell out. I was hustling for the 5 percent and killing myself to get there.

For the few dream clients I WAS seeing, here’s what was actually working:

💪Embodying my values … instead of selling myself out to impress the masses (and haters)
💪Having clear plans and task systems to keep me laser focused and time effective
💪Showing up unapologetically as ME to build meaningful relationships on and offline
💪Practicing a sales process that was deeply connecting … instead of pushy and convincing
💪Dedicating myself to next-level mindset skills … because success wasn’t happening inside my comfort zone

This 5-tiered process has now become my tried-and-true method for growing a profitable multi-six figure business that

⭐I am head over heels in love with...and reflects who I really am
⭐Gives me my time back so I can live more and work less
⭐Serves soulmate clients who are fully committed to their own growth

And it’s the method that has helped hundreds of clinicians and health entrepreneurs do the same

➡️ Clients like Allison -- who went from 1 client in October to 8 in November after just 3 weeks in the course...with the clarity to actually live in her true values instead drowning in a sea of giving to everyone else at the expense of herself.
➡️ Or clients like Kayla -- who went from killing herself in a clinic job to 5 figure months within 3 months of opening her practice during the height of COVID...without working harder or taking time away from her workouts, husband or pups.
➡️ Or clients like Suzanne -- who was booked before she even launched her PT and run coaching business by laser focusing on the most time-efficient systems and organic marketing techniques that let her live her ideal life -- full of space for her kids, workouts, and time to relax and travel with her husband

Even though they’re total rockstars, Allison, Kayla, and Suz are not magical 🦄. They don’t have anything you don’t have.

They all came to me knowing they were the BEST at what they did with their clients, but something wasn't quite right in their businesses.

BUT MORE THAN THAT -- EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW THEY COULD FIGURE THINGS OUT ON THEIR OWN EVENTUALLY, THE CONTINUED TRIAL AND ERROR THAT WOULD TAKE WAS NOT WORTH IT TO THEM.

Simply by upgrading their mindset and personal and business tools and systems, they were able to quantum leap into their next level and serve the clients who are pre-motivated and pre-qualified to pay them what their services are worth.

They learned to say YES to themselves and the values and ideal lives they LOVE, and no to having too many tabs open and spinning their wheels in all the rules, "shoulds" and fear based tactics or distracting marketing and sales gimmicks that required them to sell themselves out.

❤️‍🔥This is the type of entrepreneurship I believe in -- where you get to connect with your deepest self and develop unshakable, unbreakable confidence that you are the premier and go-to expert to serve and connect with your soulmate clients at deep level that is inspiring and reflects what you truly love.

You’ll stop having to guess at what you need to be doing each day... because you'll have clarity, confidence, know-how, and an implementable plan that helps you stay on top of things and shine like the badass entrepreneur that you and I both know you're capable of being.

And I want to invite you to do what they did -- finally stop chasing your tail doing things that aren’t moving you forward.

For anyone who needs to hear this today 👂
Especially if you feel like you’re constantly falling behind

And if you so much as take a night off from your business — things will fall through the cracks

Or if you delegate (if you even knew WHAT to delegate) it might not get done

Or if your spouse keeps subtly questioning why you haven’t made as much money as you thought you would

I get it.

You are not alone.

You’re not doing anything wrong —

And you are so very, very, very loved.

No matter what.

No matter what you do or don’t accomplish today.

No matter how many loose ends you haven’t tied up.

No matter how much pressure you feel from your spouse.

No matter how many times you’re worried you’re not providing enough.

You are loved.

You are perfect just as you are — an evolving human.

And — you can ALSO want to make progress.

Perfect and in progress.

On the path. But perfect right where you are.

So do yourself a favor

Pause
Take a breath

Go on, I’ll wait.

Inhale.
Exhale.

Look back from where you were 6 months ago.
12 months ago

❓What were you doing then?
❓What were you thinking then?
❓What were you feeling?

How far have you come from that naive innocent version of you who could not see the world as you do now?

Reach in, give that version of you some love.

Now — take a look at ALL you have accomplished since then.

What did it take for you to get here?

Courage? Conviction? Steadfastness? Surrender?

How can you thank yourself for those things?

Sometimes we are so busy digging and digging to get to the NEXT thing

That we forget to look back and see the pile of progress we’ve made.

But that pile isn’t what makes you loved.

You’re loved — and you belong here — whether there’s a pile or not.

You are not what you do or have.

You are a perfect, beautiful, brave being.

And that is what makes you loved. 💗

When prioritizing work-life balance doesn’t always work

How prioritizing work-life balance sets you up to fail
..AND WHAT TO DO INSTEAD

You finally went out on your own

So you could be in charge of your schedule

And find more balance in your life

Yet here you are, still giving your time to everyone else and scrambling to figure it out

Disappointment washes over you as you sigh and think

☹️"I JUST NEED TO PRIORITIZE BETTER"

Ugh. I know what it feels like to wonder when my athleisure will get used for more than client care

Because those workouts aren't going to do themselves!

And I have good news-

Keeping the balance doesn't have to feel like a battle you'll never win

There is a much simpler way to crack the code

Which starts with shifting one thing:

👉Lose the word "priorities"

✅Replace it with "choices"

"Priorities" invokes a win-lose ranking system.

Where there is ONE winner and lots of losers.

🥇I don't know about you -- but most humans I know like to WIN!

But when you focus only on what's NOT balanced and prioritized

You sense more losses than wins

And it's no wonder you feel so out of control and disappointed all the time.

Like something is always missing.

👉When it's a CHOICE, you're back in the driver's seat.

All choices are of equal value-

One does not cancel the other.

You can CHOOSE to

✅Hang with your kids
✅Work on your biz
✅Focus on YOU

Depending on what you WANT to do in a given moment.

This creates a can't-lose game.

Where you stay PRESENT.

And are always a winner.

🥇The brain sees only gold medals.

Listen friend -- you're more than deserving of the freedom to choose.

No should's, need to's, or have to's.

You're the Boss of Your Life.

Take radical self responsibility for your choices.

Switching things up a bit this Friday! Today’s win is from ME!

I love sharing my client’ successes and wins with you every week. But today I thought I’d share a little story about this past weekend.

I went on a bike ride - one of my favorite pastimes - but I flew over the handlebars of my bike. YIKES! I was pretty banged-up, split my lip open and needed stitches, and had a concussion. 🤕

But it didn’t affect my work. This is the SUCCESS STORY this week!!

💗I was able to take time off work to recuperate, rest, and heal

Why? How could I do that? Most people can’t step away from their job like that. Well ….
👉I have systems in place
👉I have support staff
👉I batch my content and workload
👉I trust and understand that people have my back
👉I know I can get through this - it’s just a blip on the screen - I’ve endured far worse

I’m not going to let this obstacle stop me. Let that inspire you!
