Here at Summit Spine and Joint Centers, our providers are committed to finding the best treatments to help you achieve the best possible outcomes! 💙

One of the treatments we offer is Basivertebral Nerve Ablation (BVNA). Here’s how this procedure works:

✅ A physician inserts a small probe into the affected vertebra.
✅ Heat (radiofrequency energy) is used to ablate, or deactivate, the basivertebral nerve that carries pain signals from the vertebra.
✅ The goal is to provide long-term relief from chronic low back pain.

BVNA may be an option for patients who:
✔️ Have experienced chronic low back pain for 6 months or longer.
✔️ Have not found relief with physical therapy, medications, or injections.
✔️ Have specific MRI findings known as Modic changes.

What can you expect?
✅ Typically performed as an outpatient or same-day procedure.
✅ Requires only a small incision.
✅ Recovery is generally quicker than traditional spine surgery.
✅ Many patients return to light activities within just a few days.

Tracey is a board-certified Physician Assistant with more than 12 years of experience providing patient-centered medical care in both military and civilian healthcare settings. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies and Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and has dedicated her career to helping patients improve their health, function, and quality of life.

At Summit Spine and Joint Centers, Tracey specializes in the evaluation and management of spine, musculoskeletal, and chronic pain conditions. She is committed to helping patients improve function, reduce pain, and enhance their quality of life through individualized, evidence-based care.
