🐴 Sometimes the hardest part of loving our animals is letting go of the pattern of guilt.
When Lori’s beloved Vinnie grew old and his body began to struggle, she did what so many of us do when an animal we love is suffering:
What am I missing?
What more could I do?
Did I fail him?
Through their Animal-Human Tandem Healing™ sessions, Lori began releasing a lifelong pattern of guilt and self-blame.
Then, after Vinnie’s physical transition, something beautiful unfolded.
In session, Vinnie’s soul showed me a powerful image: he was wearing the many flower garlands representing the awards and accomplishments of his life. One by one, he removed them until none remained.
The message was simple:
The accomplishments didn’t matter. What mattered most was the soul-to-soul and heart-to-heart connection he and Lori had shared.
What a beautiful reminder for all of us.
Our animals don’t need us to be perfect. They don’t need us to get every decision right. And we don’t have to punish ourselves forever for the things we wish we could have done differently.
Sometimes the deepest healing is learning to say:
I did the best I could with what I knew then.
And I can choose compassion for myself and find peace with my humanity.
Because sometimes the most loving thing we can do for our animals is to stop punishing the person they love. 💗
