A recent study found that a drug that helps other nerve diseases makes CMT4B1 worse, and figuring out why has opened a more promising path toward treatment, including a possible path forward for the related subtype CMT4B2.

This work was funded jointly by the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the CMT Research Foundation.

With one voice, organizations spanning the Charcot-Marie-Tooth community, together with input from partners across the field, are speaking up together--promoting a new framework for CMT clinical trials.

The CMT Research Foundation is proud to join the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation, and The Hunt to Cure CMT4B3 to unveil new consensus recommendations for CMT clinical trials.

This shared framework gives researchers a common roadmap, one that should make it easier to design, run, and interpret CMT trials going forward.
