I believe you.

What really confuses me is how indignant people get in the face of a woman sharing her and her child’s experience.

It’s possible to say “that wasn’t our experience, but I believe you and I’m sorry” instead of “youre lying”.

It’s almost always the same people who would defend a woman claiming she was harassed in any other context.

For humanities sake we need to take politics out of these conversations that are trying to help our children.

I’m here to have that convo no matter how loud the haters get. If you are too, welcome. I’m grateful you’re here 💕

It’s not all about believing the same thing but being open to learning more.

Inspired by a true story 😭

~2 months after sleep training her daughter a mom told me she sleeps from 7-7 (without saying they did the Ferber method).

That night after she put her daughter down we heard her cry, the monitor went muted (but Danny and Ojai could hear her cry for another 20mins while they were doing bedtime on the other side of the house).

At 10pm I heard her cry again.

Shes not sleeping that whole time 😩

These parents love their daughter. They’ve been lied to by society who makes them think they have to do this and it’s the only way.

It’s not.

Sleep training doesn’t work. Babies often cry for months after it’s “done” hoping someone will come, as they develop insecure or anxious attachment because “why do they tend to my needs half the time but not the other half?”

The babies who gave up quick, usually still wake but don’t signal.
