Everybody. And I mean everybody. 👆 V@ginal estrogen is one of the most underused, most life-changing prescriptions I write — and too many women are suffering unnecessarily because of fear and misinformation.

𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗦 𝗜𝗧:
→ Perimenopause or menopause
→ Postpartum or breastfeeding → Radiation or chemotherapy
→ History of breast cancer ✓
→ History of blood clots or heart disease ✓

Yes — even those last two. V@ginal estrogen works locally. It is not the same as systemic HRT. The absorption into the bloodstream is so minimal that in November 2025, the FDA moved to remove the decades-old black box warning — because the evidence never supported applying systemic hormone risks to a local v@ginal preparation. Multiple large studies confirm: v@ginal estrogen does not increase the risk of breast cancer, blood clots, stroke, or cardiovascular disease.

And here is the part that doesn't get talked about enough — untreated v@ginal atrophy leads to recurrent UTIs. Recurrent UTIs can progress to urosepsis — a life-threatening bloodstream infection. V@ginal estrogen reduces recurrent UTI risk by 58%. This is preventive medicine.

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦: It comes as a cream, tablet insert, ring, or softgel — all placed directly into the v@gina. Most forms are used nightly for the first 2 weeks, then scaled back to 2–3 times per week for maintenance. It works locally at the tissue level, which is why systemic absorption is so low.
