Today was a great day with the officers of Sugar Hill Marshals Office!

These men and women are now equipped with the training and tools to take immediate action when seconds matter most. From direct pressure to packing to tourniquet application, they’re better prepared to respond to life-threatening bleeding emergencies and help save lives in our community.

We’re incredibly grateful for their commitment to service, safety, and continuing education. Every officer trained and every kit placed into the field strengthens the chain of survival across our region. 🩸🚓💙

Stop the Bleed kit applications are open May 4–31!

These kits help communities be better prepared to respond in a serious bleeding emergency, giving people the tools and confidence to act quickly while waiting for first responders.

You may qualify for a one-time bleeding control kit allotment if your organization is a Georgia public education institution, law enforcement, or government agency, and has at least 10 trained staff.

If your space is where people gather, this is a simple but powerful way to help keep them safer.

When emergencies happen, the actions taken in the first few minutes can make all the difference.

Thank you to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office for investing in Stop the Bleed training and expanding their ability to provide immediate lifesaving care to the citizens of their community.

con·tin·u·um
Pronunciation: /kən-ˈtin-yü-əm/ - Something that exists as a continuous sequence or whole with no clear division into parts. Healthcare is a continuum — an unbroken chain of care where every role, every department and every interaction matters. Within a hospital, countless professionals move together seamlessly to stabilize, treat, support and care for patients during some of life’s most critical moments.

This Hospital Week, we recognize the strength of that continuum and the people who make it possible every single day.

When a trauma patient arrives, an entire network of professionals immediately goes to work. Nurses, physicians, laboratory staff, imaging teams, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, environmental services, transport teams, social workers and many others each play a vital role in patient care.

Every action matters. Every department matters. And together, these teams form the coordinated continuum of care that helps save lives every day.

Great outcomes in emergencies start with great training.

The Georgia Trauma Commission’s Applied Anatomy and Cadaver Lab is a continuing education program for currently licensed EMS providers, offering the opportunity to learn and practice life-saving skills using real anatomy, helping providers recognize critical findings faster, make better decisions under pressure, and deliver higher quality care when seconds matter

With small class sizes and focused, hands-on instruction, this program supports high acuity, low frequency skill development in airway management, chest trauma, and resuscitation, directly aligned with the needs identified by EMS providers across Georgia.
The first lab launches this week in Gainesville, with additional sessions planned across the state, including Macon, Swainsboro, Metro Atlanta, and expansion into every EMS region.

Spots are limited, learn more and register today.

Nursing is the foundation of patient care—but trauma nursing is where skill meets urgency.
In the most unpredictable moments, trauma nurses lead, adapt, and save lives.
We are grateful for all nurses—and especially those who stand ready when it matters most.
