Travel weekend = gas station food decisions. 😂

We stopped at QT for gas, and I decided to take a quick look around to see what I could find that would still help me stay on plan.

And honestly? There were options.

Not perfect options.
Not “make a whole meal plan from QT” options.
But enough to keep me from grabbing whatever just because I was hungry.

A few things I noticed:

Beef sticks.
Protein shakes.
Fruit.
Pickles.
Meat and cheese roll-ups.
Snack trays.

Would I build my whole day around gas station food? Nope.

But can I make a decent choice when I’m traveling and need something quick? Absolutely.

That’s one of the things I love about learning the basics instead of just following rules.

You start to see options everywhere.

Not every choice has to be perfect to be helpful. 💚

A busy day.
A tired day.

That’s where consistency gets built.

Not in the perfect restart.

Most people think fiber is just about “going to the bathroom.” 😅

But fiber is actually feeding an entire inner community inside your gut.

Your microbiome is made up of trillions of tiny organisms that help with things like:
✨ digestion
✨ gut motility
✨ fullness and satiety
✨ blood sugar regulation
✨ immune system support
✨ inflammation balance
✨ vitamin production
✨ even cravings and food noise

And here’s what’s fascinating…

Different gut microbes thrive on different foods.

That’s one reason the Wisdom principles matter so much. 💚

🥦 Plant Strong
Different plants provide different fibers and compounds that feed different beneficial bacteria.

🍠 Carb Honoring
Strategic whole-food carbs like fruit, beans, oats, potatoes, and other nourishing carbs provide fuel your body AND your gut microbes can actually use well.

🥗 Fiber Fueled
Fiber helps support motility, fullness, colon health, and feeds the microbes that produce beneficial compounds like short-chain fatty acids.

Never did I ever… until I did!! 💚

Never did I ever…

1️⃣ Ferment and drink kefir… or use nootropic mushroom powders or drink espresso… until I did 😂
Now it’s my protein-powered morning brew that helps fuel my muscles, supports my brain, and keeps my gut bugs happy.

2️⃣ Think I could ditch the sugar, stop binge eating those CFA chocolate chip cookies, and actually lose the food noise… until I did.
Now I fuel my body 4 times a day with adequate protein and plenty of plant foods… and the food noise, sugar obsession, and binge cycle are gone.

3️⃣ Think I’d be the girl who exercises on purpose 😅… until I did.
Now I’m doing workouts three mornings a week — not to punish my body, but because I want to be strong and capable for my future 90-year-old self.

Honestly, some of the things that changed my life were things I once thought would never be “me.”

Small choices. Consistent action. That’s all it ever was.

So now I want to know…

Honestly though… I really do love figuring out how to make meals work better for the body instead of just eating less.

At this point I can’t even look at a plate without mentally calculating protein, density, and meal balance 😂
