We homeschooled for a season, and honestly, it gave my husband and I exactly what we needed. And that was space to pause and get clear on our why. Plus our son had some of his own reasons why he should be unschooled. My husband knew he had window. So he took on most of the responsibility especially because he wanted zero regrets.
This article really hit home because homeschooling isn’t about having the perfect setup or all the answers. Sometimes it’s simply about creating margin to reconnect, reset, and figure out what works best for your kid(s) and your family.
For us, that season brought clarity, confidence, and a reminder that learning doesn’t have to look one certain way. And now my son understands the “outside school world.” Sometimes the bravest thing we can do as parents is stay open to a different path.
I found this read for any parent even considering the conversation. 💛
If you are considering homeschooling, you do not need a perfect plan. You need a clear reason, next steps, real support, and permission to adjust.
