Did you know cooking from scratch does far more than just feed us? 🥣✨

Emerging research shows a strong link between home cooking and supporting long-term cognitive health. It engages your mind, sparks creativity, and turns healthy aging into a daily habit.

My latest blog post explores how simple shifts can make cooking nourishing and enjoyable:

We may understand our emotions.

Yet many of us continue repeating the same emotional patterns.

Why?

My latest article explores why understanding is only the beginning—and what emotional resilience really requires.

You may recognize yourself in what I've written.

How much of the life we experience is shaped by emotions we have never fully understood?

Emotions influence far more than how we feel. They shape our relationships, resilience, health, the way we respond to life's challenges, and ultimately, who we become.

In this new episode of The Empowered Life Podcast, I sit down with bestselling author, psychotherapist, researcher, and registered nurse Dr. Deborah Sandella for a thoughtful conversation about emotional resilience, the mind-body connection, and why understanding our emotional lives is an essential part of healthy aging.

Whether you're navigating change, supporting someone you love, or simply seeking to understand yourself more deeply, I hope this conversation offers both insight and encouragement.

After you've listened, I'd love to hear your thoughts. What has life taught you about the role emotions play in shaping who we become?

Asha Paul speaks with Deborah Sandella about emotional resilience, trauma recovery, healthy aging, relationships, and emotional wellbeing in Episode 2 of The Empowered Life Podcast.

Sometimes the patterns that shape our lives are the ones we rarely stop to notice.

We often spend so much time caring for the outside — our food, our exercise, our routines — and these are deeply important.

But another part of wellbeing is learning to understand our inner world.

The way we respond when life does not go as planned.
The emotions we learned to hide.
The protective patterns we developed along the way.
The stories we carry about who we are.

Over the years, I have come to appreciate that true wellbeing includes caring for the body, strengthening the mind, and bringing greater awareness to the patterns that shape our daily lives.

Growth is not always about becoming someone different.

Sometimes it begins with understanding ourselves with more compassion and wisdom.

💛 More reflections on this coming soon.

With love,
Asha

Good food has a way of bringing people together.

One of my greatest joys is taking simple, wholesome ingredients and turning them into something both nourishing and beautiful.

Today’s menu included a vegan white fudge alongside a South Indian peas poriyal — two dishes that remind me that healthy eating never has to be boring.

Food isn’t simply fuel.

It creates memories.
It starts conversations.
It connects generations.

This is what I love exploring through Cooking with Asha — how simple ingredients, traditional wisdom, and modern understanding of health can come together in a way that is delicious, practical, and sustainable.

Because the food we eat should not only support our wellbeing — it should also bring joy to our lives.

I’d love to know…

What is one dish that instantly reminds you of home?

Jackie Kennedy has long been remembered for her grace, beauty, and iconic style.

But while writing this week's article, I became interested in a different question:

What can her story teach us about our modern relationship with health?

Many of us have been taught that health comes from more discipline, more restriction, more optimization, and more control.

Yet the body responds to far more than food alone.

It also responds to stress.

Pressure.

Fear.

Self-criticism.

And the feeling that we are never quite doing enough.

In this new article, I explore what Jackie Kennedy's life may reveal about wellness culture, body image, healthy aging, and the deeper pursuit of true health.

It is also where I introduce a concept that has become increasingly important in my own work:

Emotionally Intelligent Longevity.
