“It feels like I finally have a coach in the corner of my boxing ring.” 🥊

This is exactly why I do what I do. ❤️

Hormone health isn’t about chasing a single “perfect” lab value or putting everyone on the same protocol. It’s about looking at the whole picture, understanding what your body is telling you, and creating a plan that actually makes sense for you.

Seeing a client experience improvements in mood, energy, inflammation, swelling, and—perhaps most importantly—hope for the first time in a long time is the kind of progress that never gets old.

Thank you to my clients who trust me with their health journeys. It means more than you know. 🤍

Your health deserves a team in your corner

I’m so excited to announce the rebrand of Far Out Alternative Care to Isla Integrative Women’s Health.

There’s been a lot that has happened in the past year since opening.

I was pregnant and subsequently lost my daughter, Isla Rose at 22 weeks pregnant, delivering her on Christmas morning of 2025. Because of everything that I struggled with related to that pregnancy, fertility, then getting pregnant with her, complications, and then ultimately losing her has completely shaped my priorities and what I want this practice to turn into.

This is something that is a huge passion of mine, considering my personal struggles. I hope to be a resource to women who are struggling with hormones, fertility, postpartum, and everything in between and beyond.

It only felt right to name the practice after her. It is because of her that this has come to fruition and this keeps her memory alive. I hope everyone stays tuned for some of the changes coming. I can’t wait to see you all. Thanks for listening.

How can HRT be preventative care : UTIs!!!

Did you know your thyroid can’t function properly without enough iron?

Iron isn’t just important for preventing anemia—it also helps your body convert inactive thyroid hormone (T4) into the active form (T3) that your cells actually use. Low iron stores can contribute to symptoms like:

• Fatigue
• Hair loss
• Brain fog
• Feeling cold
• Slowed metabolism

If you’re struggling with thyroid symptoms but your labs are “normal,” don’t overlook your iron status. Ferritin (your iron storage marker) can be just as important as checking TSH, Free T4, and Free T3.

Your thyroid doesn’t work in isolation—it needs the right nutrients to thrive. 💙

For years, I worked in critical care.

I was there on people’s worst days. I held hands during unimaginable loss, delivered devastating news, and fought alongside incredible teams to save lives. It was an honor—but it also changed me.

Over time, I experienced something I didn’t have words for then: moral injury.

Not because I stopped caring.
Because I cared so deeply.

I watched chronic disease progress despite our best efforts. I saw patients return over and over with conditions that might have been prevented or better managed if we’d had the time to look deeper. Fifteen-minute visits, endless medications, treating numbers instead of people—it often felt like we were putting bandages on problems that deserved real answers.

I left many shifts wondering, “There has to be another way.”

That’s what led me to functional medicine.

Today, I still care for patients—but instead of waiting until they’re critically ill, I get to help them understand why they’re feeling exhausted, anxious, gaining weight, struggling through perimenopause, dealing with digestive issues, or feeling like they’ve lost themselves.

Now I have the time to listen.
To investigate.
To educate.
To partner with my patients instead of rushing them out the door.

Watching someone get their energy back, finally sleep through the night, balance their hormones, or hear, “I finally feel like myself again,” fills a part of me that critical care never could.

I’ll always be grateful for my years in the ER and ICU. They shaped me into the provider I am today.

But helping people reclaim their health before they become critically ill?

That’s where I know I’m meant to be.

🤍 Prevention is powerful.
🤍 Listening is medicine.
🤍 Healing is possible.
