Severe cramping is one of the most dismissed symptoms in women's health, but there's often a reason behind it. Low magnesium is more common than most people realize, and it plays a direct role in how intensely your uterus contracts. You deserve answers, not just a prescription for ibuprofen. 💛

Chandra spent 18 years living with endometriosis symptoms that started when she was just 11 years old. Throughout her teens and twenties, she was repeatedly dismissed by doctors, until she took matters into her own hands and found the NYGSE team.

In her words: "From the moment you walk in throughout the entire process, you're never alone."

After surgery, Chandra has noticed a real difference in how she feels, and she wants other women to know they don't have to keep searching for someone to take them seriously. Thank you, Chandra, for sharing your story. 💛

Low libido with endometriosis is not in your head, and it is not just about pain during s*x.

There are six distinct contributors we see every day at NYGS, and most patients have never had a single one addressed. Accurate diagnosis, surgical treatment, pelvic floor therapy, hormonal review, mental health support, and practical tools are all part of comprehensive care. Not consolation prizes. Not extras. Treatment.

If no one has talked to you about any of this, it may be time for a second opinion.

Words like these mean everything. 🤍 Too many women wait 7 to 10 years for an endometriosis diagnosis. Toni Ann didn't have to, and that's exactly why we do this work.

Endometriosis exists on a spectrum, and no stage should be dismissed.

Stage 1 is characterized by superficial lesions, usually on the pelvic wall or pouch of Douglas. Stage 4 includes severe adhesions, bowel and/or bladder involvement, and severe damage to the pouch of Douglas.

It's also important to know that pain levels don't always correspond with stage. A Stage 1 diagnosis doesn't mean minimal impact on daily life, and individual experiences can vary widely.

Whatever stage you're at, your pain is real and your experience matters. We're always here to help you understand what's happening in your body and what your options are.

Your surgical photos tell a story, and you should be able to understand it.

Red lesions contain many blood vessels and can look like spots. Chocolate cysts are large lumps that grow inside an o***y. Peritoneal windows are oval-shaped areas that look like a dent. White scarring forms when the body absorbs trapped blood over time. Black areas are blood trapped in scar tissue. Clear spots look like tiny bubbles.

We know receiving surgical photos can feel overwhelming. We hope this helps make things a little clearer, and we're always here to help explain. 💛

Save this and share it with someone who might need it.

Nobody talks about what endometriosis does to your s*x life beyond the pain itself.

The exhaustion that leaves nothing left for desire. The hormonal treatments that come with real tradeoffs. The anxiety and depression that follow years of being dismissed. The distance that grows in relationships when pain goes unexplained for too long.

These are not side effects of a weak constitution. They are predictable consequences of a serious, undertreated disease. And they deserve to be part of the conversation.
