👉🏻What if your anxiety and depression aren’t in your head, they’re in your immune system?

We’ve been taught depression and anxiety are just “chemical imbalances” but it’s more complex than that.

Research shows that your brain and immune system are constantly talking.

When inflammatory markers (like IL-6 and TNF-alpha) are elevated, they can cross into the brain and disrupt how your neurons (nerve cells in the brain) function.

(Things like chronic stress, poor diet, smoking, diabetes, obesity can increase inflammatory markers)

This inflammation leads to:

❌Inflammation that lowers serotonin and dopamine (your motivation and feel-good chemicals).
❌An increase in glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter, which can overstimulate the brain leading to anxiety.
❌Impairment of brain plasticity which is your ability to adapt to change and feel resilient.
❌Activation of the amygdala, your brain’s fear center, which can amplify anxiety.

This is why inflammation is linked to fatigue, brain fog, low motivation, poor sleep, and that “flat” feeling.

And here’s the thing, stress increases inflammation and inflammation increases depression and anxiety which leads to more stress…. It’s a loop.

So what do we do?
✨Take Omega-3 fatty acids, around 1–2 grams daily of both EPA and DHA (talk to your doctor or nutritionist first)✨Eat a Mediterranean-style diet, focusing on whole foods such as vegetables, fruit, whole grains, olive oil, etc✨Mindfulness or breath work, even short interventions or breathing breaks lower inflammatory cytokines (the body’s alarm signals)

We can’t talk about mental health without talking about inflammation.

If you’re dealing with fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, or low mood and it feels like more than “just stress” then send me a DM.

I help you get to the root cause of what you’re struggling with.

Using my Core 4 framework I assess inflammation, nutrient status, hormones, and gut health because mental health is never just one thing.

Discipline > Motivation !

Motivation isn’t reliable.

Some days you may feel like doing the thing and some days you may not.

And when you don’t feel like it, most likely you won’t do it, which means the longer it takes to reach your goal.

So instead of waiting to be motivated to do something, we have to rely on discipline instead.

Discipline isn’t punishment.
✨It’s about structure.
✨Having a plan and sticking to it.✨Keeping promises to yourself.✨& doing small basic habits that compound over time.

Motivation is emotional.Discipline is a decision.
When your habits are non-negotiable, you don’t waste energy debating yourself.
You just do it.

That’s where freedom comes from.

Discipline = freedom
Freedom from starting over.Freedom from guilt.Freedom from inconsistency.
Freedom from obsessing about wanting to achieve a goal that you never work hard enough for.

The more disciplined you are with your health, your workouts, your routines, your boundaries, your life….the less chaotic you feel.

And chaos is exhausting and it feels like you never get ahead.
👉🏻So build a system for yourself.👉🏻Reduce decision fatigue, and just do what you have to do. End of story.👉🏻Show up whether you feel like it or not.
👉🏻You are the only one that can give you the life you dream of.

And in 6 months, 1 year, 5 years…..you will be so glad you started today. I promise.

if you need help with your discipline around what to eat and building other nutrition and lifestyle habits, DM me.

I see clients via telehealth or in person and I accept insurance! 🤍
