💜 Raegan Update — Bone Density Scan

Yesterday Rae had her bone density scan to check how her body is responding to treatment for her compression fractures… and the results are encouraging! Her bone density has improved, and the cracks in her spine are filling. She’s not completely healed yet, but this means we’re on the right track and continuing with the current plan.

That’s great news — but here’s the part I’m most proud of. Because of everything she’s been through, Rae carries medical anxiety. In the video, you can hear me reminding her to use the skills she’s built in her toolbox.

She locked in, followed my coaching, centered herself, and made it through the scan.

It may seem simple to some, but for Rae — this was huge. I’m so proud of her for using her tools and doing what needed to be done.

4‑year‑old Raegan & Dad singing LaShun Pace’s “Another Day’s Journey”… her tiny voice carrying a song far bigger than she knew.Looking back now, it feels like an unknowing foreshadow — a glimpse into the strength, faith, and resilience she would grow into.

What a journey it has been… and the journey continues.
And I am glad about it. 💜✨

GRWM: setting up Rae’s overnight NG tube feed.

Day in and day out, I’ve created a rhythm for Raegan’s medical needs. This is one part of her nightly routine — formula prep, syringing her liquid meds, and getting her hooked up for her overnight feed.

These days, that routine isn’t carried alone. Between myself, Raegan’s nurses, and my husband (when he’s home), we rotate through making her formula, prepping her meds, and getting her connected for the night.

So yes… Rae officially has a whole medical entourage now. Her formula on this particular night was actually made by her day nurse. And after a few months of having scheduled, consistent, reliable help, I can say with my whole chest — it has been— it has been nothing short of wonderful.

A lot of you who know us personally have asked what the nurses help with while they’re here, and I’ll be diving deeper into that soon. For now, GRWM while I prep Rae’s night routine.

Another skating moment for today’s theme…

Raegan was just 6 years old here, and this was the last time before her BFF’s birthday party that I was able to get her on a pair of skates. She was doing amazing as a beginner — cautious, focused, and still finding joy in the moment.

Looking back at this clip now, it makes me smile. So much has happened since then. So much growth. And seeing her step back into skates again this month, even with all the valid fears I carry as her mom and caregiver, reminds me how brave she truly is.

These little snapshots of her childhood mean everything.
