When people inquire about someone we know, fellowship with, work with, or are connected to, we have to be careful not to step into matters that do not involve us.
Biblically, we are not called to fill in the gaps with assumptions, opinions, or personal feelings. That can quickly become gossip, talebearing, or speaking on something we do not fully know.
Sometimes the wisest answer is:
“I don’t know.”
“I’m unsure.”
“That’s not mine to speak on.”
“You may want to ask them directly.”
Scripture Meditation 👉🏾 Proverbs 18:13
“He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.”
This is a powerful scripture for when someone asks you about a matter but you do not have the full truth or context.
