🏆✨ Celebrating Innovation in Advanced Practice ✨🏆
Please join us in congratulating Amelia Schettini, CRNP, on being named the recipient of the Johns Hopkins Advanced Practice Opportunity Award! 👏💙
Selected from a record number of applicants, Amelia was awarded $10,000 in support of her proposal:
🧠 “Habits for Brain Health: Equipping APPs to Prevent Stroke and Chronic Disease Through Lifestyle Medicine Certification.”
This impactful initiative highlights the critical role Advanced Practice Providers play in prevention-focused, whole-person care and advancing evidence-based approaches to chronic disease management.
As a Nurse Practitioner and Program Coordinator for the Joint Stroke Telemedicine Transitional Care and Empowerment Program (JSTTEP), Amelia supports patients transitioning from hospital to home following stroke. Her work focuses on managing chronic disease risk factors, coordinating care, supporting recovery, and empowering patients through education and self-management strategies.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Amelia is actively involved in stroke recovery research focused on improving outcomes through technology and patient-centered innovation. Her dedication to prevention, lifestyle medicine, and interdisciplinary collaboration reflects the very best of Advanced Practice at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Amelia shared that this award recognizes the importance of addressing the root causes of chronic disease through holistic care that integrates physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. Through formal certification in lifestyle medicine, she hopes to further strengthen structured, evidence-based interventions that improve long-term patient outcomes across the healthcare system and beyond.
Amelia’s Johns Hopkins journey began in 2015 as an inpatient nurse on the Neurosciences Unit (Zayed 12W/BRU), before transitioning into her outpatient NP role in 2020 — a testament to the leadership, growth, and impact APPs continue to make across our organization.
Pictured with Amelia are her mentor and Director of Advanced Practice, Jean Rodgers; Executive Director of Advanced Practice, Kathryn (Katy) Hines, PA-C, M.S., M.B.A.; and Co-Chair of the Advanced Practice Advisory Council, Julia David.
Congratulations, Amelia, on this well-deserved recognition and for your continued commitment to advancing patient care, prevention, and innovation in healthcare! 🌟
