🎄🤠 Merry Cowboy Christmas! 🤠🎄
Whether you're gearing up for a long run of rodeos or a weekend full of fun shows, your equine athlete needs a recovery plan just as much as a preparation plan!

Our Post-Performance Recovery Package is designed to help your horse recover efficiently, reduce soreness, and get back to feeling their best. After intense exercise, your horse's muscles experience microscopic tears and accumulate metabolic byproducts, including lactic acid and inflammatory compounds. Without proper recovery, these can contribute to muscle soreness, stiffness, fatigue, decreased performance, and increase the risk of injury over time.

Cryotherapy- helps reduce inflammation by causing blood vessels to temporarily constrict. As the tissues warm back up, fresh oxygen-rich blood returns to the area, helping flush metabolic waste products, decrease swelling, relieve pain, and support the body's natural healing process.

Massage- increases circulation, improves lymphatic drainage, reduces muscle tension, and helps restore normal muscle function. Healthy lymphatic flow is essential for removing cellular waste and excess fluid from tissues, while improved blood flow delivers oxygen and nutrients needed for muscle repair.

Recovery doesn't just happen with rest—it happens when the body has the support it needs to repair, rebuild, and perform again.

Give your equine partner the same level of care they give you in the arena. Investing in recovery today means helping them stay stronger, sounder, and ready for whatever tomorrow brings. 💪🏽

On Sunday we discussed how Acupressure changes the way you assess, view and treat.
And this is the exact topic we are on today

Neck pain isn’t always just about the neck.

This is where acupressure starts to change how you see the body.

The Small Intestine Meridian runs directly through the areas we commonly associate with neck restriction and discomfort in horses.

This pathway travels:
from the shoulder
v
up through the neck
v
into the poll and head region

So when this meridian is imbalanced or blocked, what you may see is:
1. stiffness through the neck
2. resistance to bending or flexion
3. poll sensitivity
4. uneven contact or difficulty softening

Here’s the shift most practitioners don’t realize right away…

You can treat the neck all day long, but if the pathway contributing to that tension isn’t addressed, the results often don’t hold.

The Small Intestine meridian plays a role in:
sorting and separating within the body (in TCM terms)
supporting clarity and processing
influencing tension patterns along its entire pathway

Which means tension in the neck may not just be mechanical.

It can be part of a larger pattern.

This is why acupressure becomes such a powerful tool.

Instead of only focusing on where the discomfort is showing up…

You start working along the entire meridian to support:
*release through the neck
*improved movement
*better overall balance in the system

And this is often when practitioners start noticing:

Things change faster.
And they last longer.

Because now you’re working with the body - not against it.

“What bit does he run in?”

Wrong question. The better question is:
How do YOU ride?

I get asked all the time what bit my horses use.
But here’s the truth most people don’t want to hear..
It’s not about the bit. It’s about the hands holding it.

What works for me might not work for you.
Not because one of us is wrong.
But because we do not ride the same.

We don’t:
• Hold pressure the same
• Release the same
• Have the same timing
• Have the same feel

Think about opening a door.

Some people gently turn the handle.
Some people grab it and jerk.

Same door.
Different pressure.
Different result.

It’s the same with bits.

Sometimes I’ll put a little more bit on one for a youth rider not to be harsh but because they don’t yet have the same strength, timing, or clarity. The tool helps balance the conversation.

Other times, I’ll ride one in less because my feel allows it. That’s where people get in trouble.

They responds to pressure.
Release.
Timing.

Ask yourself:
“Am I riding in a way that makes sense to my horse?”
That’s the conversation that actually matters.

Why massage?

Massage helps your horse’s body work the way it’s meant to. 🐎✅ When muscles are used during training or competition, they can become tight and fatigued. Massage uses gentle, targeted pressure to increase blood flow to these muscles, bringing in oxygen and nutrients while helping flush out waste that builds up during exercise. This process supports faster recovery and reduces soreness. Massage also helps tight muscles relax and improves flexibility, allowing your horse to move more freely and efficiently. When muscles are balanced and relaxed, the body moves better, lowering the risk of strain or injury and supporting long-term soundness.

In regards to my "cheaper" prices.

🏅 I am qualified.
🏅 I Have more experience in this field than most.
🏅 I've been working with Holistic & Integrative Therapies since 2015, both human and equine.

My daughter's gelding turns 30 this year! He's a true testament to the statement that "if you take care of them, they'll last." Check out the video below. 🤠 👇🏽 👇🏽 👇🏽

He gets routine bodywork MULTIPLE times a month & I stand firm on that with any caliber performance horse.

I read a post the other day that said "Cheap body work isn't good and good body work isn't cheap" something to that degree 🙄... WHICH may be true in some cases, but not here.

From a client perspective, I want you to know that if you schedule an appointment with me, professionalism, integrity, and quality of treatments come first & are something that I take seriously. Lining my pockets isn't what I'm after.

Bodywork once a month IS NOT beneficial. ⬅️ Read that again, say it out loud, write it down.

It's like running on the treadmill once and expecting to lose weight.

Sessions should be scheduled:
🩵Multiple times a month
🩵Bi-weekly
🩵Weekly
*Depending, and varying on what you're trying to achieve, heal, or accomplish.*

As with anything else - consistency is where you will get results.

I truly care about my clients and the results they're seeing. So by keeping my prices ✨AFFORDABLE✨ it's not only easier on your wallet, but more beneficial for your horse.

Lastly, enjoy this short video of our old gelding who I'm pretty sure could still "yeet" my kid into oblivion should he feel fresh enough.

Cryotherapy + photonic redlight acupuncture = a powerful one two punch for performance horses.

Cryo quickly cools sore tissue to reduce pain, swelling and metabolic stress, while targeted red/near-infrared light stimulates cells to speed tissue repair and lower chronic inflammation.

These two therapies together go perfectly hand-in-hand 🤝
Cryo gives immediate relief and the light therapy helps the tissue heal stronger, great for faster recoveries and consistent performance. 🤌
