Just returned from the 25th New England Crisis Negotiators Association conference in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and what an incredible experience it was. As first-time attendees, we were told how much fun we’d have and how much we’d learn — but the reality exceeded every expectation.

The presentations were outstanding, and there was so much knowledge shared over the three days. But the best part was the time spent with old friends, making new friendships, and growing stronger together as a team.

Being a member of the Southern New Hampshire Special Operations Unit’s Negotiations Team is truly an honor, and knowing and serving alongside these amazing people is a privilege I never take for granted. Clinician Emily Foskitt and I have been on the team for about a year now, and we’re excited to continue learning, growing, and serving our communities together.

Thank you to everyone who made this conference such a memorable experience. Already looking forward to next year.

As the SNHCISM Peer Team Annual Summit comes to a close, it’s impossible not to reflect on the incredible amount of heart, dedication, and behind-the-scenes effort that brought it all together. From the planning to the presentations, so many people showed up with intention and care to create something truly meaningful.

What stands out most are the moments of vulnerability—peers sharing their stories, their experiences, and their humanity. Those moments don’t just stay in the room—they ripple outward, strengthening connection, deepening understanding, and reminding all of us why this work matters.

At SHIFT, we are deeply honored to stand alongside this team. Supporting this community, witnessing this level of courage and commitment, and being part of something that makes such a genuine impact is not something we take lightly. Grateful doesn’t quite capture it—but it’s a start.

SHIFT’s 2026 Open House 🤍

What a day. Walking through our new space, surrounded by community, connection, and the incredible energy of the people who showed up to support us—it was humbling in the best way. We are so deeply grateful for every person who came out, and for all of those who reached out with support from afar. It truly meant more than we can put into words.

This space, and this work, has been 2.5 years in the making. What started as a vision has continued to grow—first with Emily, then Johanna—each of us bringing something unique, yet aligned, to what SHIFT is becoming.

Our logo holds that story.

The dandelion represents the work we do. We can only plant the seed—offering support, guidance, and space—and trust that those seeds will be carried, take root, and grow in their own time. The three seeds in our logo represent each of us and the shared commitment we hold to this work.

The circle—an incomplete one, inspired by the Ensō—reflects something just as important: that nothing we do here is about perfection. It’s about growth, evolution, and honoring the beauty in the process as it unfolds.

This is just the beginning. And we’re so grateful you’re part of it.

What an incredible fundraising event for the Manchester Peer Team today — MFD Hockey vs. Bruins Alumni! 🏒

The final score wasn’t what mattered most. What truly counted was seeing families, friends, and Manchester firefighters come together to connect, have fun, and raise awareness about the emotional toll this job can have on our firefighters and their families. Events like this help support those working to end the stigma, reach those who need help, and prevent emotional suffering wherever possible.
