Georganne "Geo" Giordano MSc, RH(AHG), has a Master of Science in Herbal Medicine and is a Registered Medical Herbalist trained to work in partnership with modern medicine. Geo Derick is a Medical Herbalist and a professional member of the American Herbalist’s Guild(AHG), which promotes the highest level of professionalism and ethical practice of herbal therapeutics. Acceptance requires at least 4
years of education & practice, over 1000 hours of client visits, a comprehensive exam of materia medica, contraindications, herb-drug interactions, dosing and therapeutic actions of at least 150 plants, understanding the scope and limitations of herbal practice, plus knowing when to refer or consult with other health professionals. Geo enjoys formulating custom medicines for clients that are both good tasting and therapeutic. As an avid organic gardener, cook and educator, she agrees with Hippocrates: Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food. Derick has taught dozens of subjects at various Universities, Conferences, Organizations and other public places. She is an adjunct faculty member at Johns Hopkins University teaching Basics of Medicinal Plant Pharmacology and Integrative Medicine. Her passion for health and nutrition, the plants and the planet are known to be contagious!
