One of my first experiences as a vendor taught me something I didn’t expect.
I’m an engineer. I work in construction. My days are full, fast, and demanding. I also live with an ADHD mind, which means when I have a vision, I need tools that help me move, create, and bring that vision to life without waiting for everything to be perfect.
When I first started applying to marketplaces, some doors closed because I was using “too much AI.”
And honestly? It hurt.
Not because I don’t respect handmade work. I do. Deeply.
But because I thought witchy and spiritual spaces would feel more like sisterhood. More like guidance. More like, “Hey, this is not what we accept here, but let us show you how to grow into it.”
AI, for me, was not about replacing artists. It was about learning, building, surviving a busy life, and finding a way to express the world I had inside me when I didn’t yet have the resources to hire designers for everything.
New vendors are already paying for materials, booth fees, inventory, displays, travel, time, and energy. Sometimes we are doing all of this while working full-time jobs.
So maybe instead of closing the door, there can be another path.
A bridge.
A way to say: “We don’t accept AI-heavy designs here, but we can connect you with artists, designers, or resources to help transform your concept into something handmade, original, and aligned.”
Because sometimes the person you reject is not trying to cheat the craft.
Sometimes she is just trying to begin.
