The word 'Maven' comes from the Hebrew word 'Mevin' which means "one who understands." A Maven is an intense gatherer of information & impressions, and are therefore the first to pick up on new or nascent trends ie. Trends being born, or budding ideas. Mavens of Design is a look inside the open door of these important people of our society, the Mavens of the field of design. The fashion designers,
interior designers, stylists and artists who are at the precipice of new & innovative design thought. We go inside inside the mavens own homes- where the maven is likely to gather items around him or her of great inspiration, things aiding, facilitating or triggering leading-edge design thinking. We provide an intimate look indoors, to the home & lives of those who are creating ideas & concepts of tomorrow's real design world. These mavens of design are the free-thinking leaders of the design community. Mavens seek to pass on knowledge to others, hence this is an open forum for inspiring design discussion. What their home and the items around them mean to them, and where their head is currently at.
