A day late but better late than never.

As the school year comes to an end and Monday marks the kids’ last day of school, summer is finally here. ☀️💚

Summer should be about making memories, taking family trips, and enjoying every moment together. One day, our summers will be a lot easier. No dialysis machine. No planning every overnight trip around treatments. No worrying about how many supplies I need to pack just to leave home.

Right now, every trip means carrying a box and a half of dialysis supplies PER NIGHT, plus my suitcase and extra bags just for medical equipment. We have to make sure we get to our Airbnb or hotel early enough so I can set up my dialysis machine and supplies for the night. Then I spend 9 hours connected to that machine before I can wake up and enjoy the rest of the day with my family.

This journey is not easy, but we keep pushing forward.

I am currently on the transplant list at UAB Medicine and next week I have a CT scan scheduled for Emory University Hospital as part of this journey toward receiving a kidney transplant.

Please continue praying that I receive my kidney soon. Pray for strength for my children, my other half, and our family as we continue walking through this together.
