The meal at Professional Development Day 2026 is a chance to pause, share a table, and continue the conversations started during the day. Chef’s Chef Catering will help us make that time welcoming and enjoyable.

Chef Ray Franklin Jr. and Vanessa Franklin have built Chef’s Chef around flavorful food, thoughtful presentation, and personal service. Vanessa sees catering as a way to care for people and build relationships, and that attention to guests is part of the experience she and Chef Ray bring to each event.

We’re pleased to have their team cater PDD 2026 on October 8 at Innovation Depot. We look forward to sharing their food and hospitality with you.

Community doesn’t stop at the boundaries of an organization. It grows through connection.

In this month’s President’s Corner, PMI Central Alabama Chapter President Rosalind Parks, PMP, reflects on the power of building meaningful partnerships across our professional community.

Throughout 2026, our chapter has continued strengthening relationships with project professionals, employers, academic institutions, community organizations, and strategic partners. Because the strongest partnerships aren’t simply transactional—they create opportunities, expand access, connect talent, and bring new perspectives into the room.

As Rosalind shares, when those relationships work together, community becomes more than a network. It becomes an ecosystem.

And that’s what Community in Action is all about: looking beyond who is already in the room and continuing to build relationships that make the room bigger.

Read this month’s President’s Corner and discover why partnership is essential to building a stronger project management community.

For more than 30 years, PMI Central Alabama has been bringing professionals together to learn, lead, connect, and grow.

From the President’s Reception to today, our chapter has continued to evolve—creating opportunities for professionals, students, and community partners to connect through professional development, scholarships, service, networking, and leadership.

In 2026, that tradition evolves again with the PMI Central Alabama President’s Gala—our annual signature celebration.

On December 10, we will bring together professionals from engineering, construction, healthcare, technology, banking and financial services, higher education, utilities, government, consulting, and other industries for an evening of connection, recognition, and celebration.

Guests will also hear from a highly respected community leader whose influence and commitment to leadership and impact will make this an evening to remember.

So why attend?
Because you will be in the room with corporate partners, executives, business leaders, project professionals, community leaders, city officials, educators, and emerging professionals—all while celebrating the people and progress that moved our community forward this year.

Connect. Network. Celebrate.
