Update on Trace! 🧡
Thank you for the prayers, texts, and love that continue to surround our family. We were able to leave Atlanta late yesterday afternoon and make it home safely.
Trace is doing well and resting. The next few days are usually the hardest, but he is incredibly strong.
Yesterday, Trace was diagnosed with CVID (Common Variable Immunodeficiency), a disorder that affects the immune system and makes it difficult for the body to produce enough antibodies to fight infections.
It appears that chemotherapy is likely the cause of this condition. To be honest, without that treatment, he would not be with us today. While this wasn’t the news we were hoping for, we are grateful to finally have answers.
Based on this diagnosis, it appears he will likely need weekly IVIG treatments indefinitely to help support his immune system. We are staying hopeful and trusting that everything will be okay, and we are thankful to have a clear treatment plan moving forward.
The good news is that with consistent treatment and care, Trace should be able to live a full, active life. For that, we are incredibly thankful.
This journey continues to remind us that the path forward doesn’t always look the way we expected, but we trust God and keep taking it one step at a time.
And don’t worry, I fully intend to keep reminding him about those treatments for the rest of his life. 🤪
Thank you for continuing to pray for, encourage, and support our family. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.

Update on Trace! 🧡
We will be heading down tomorrow afternoon through Thursday for a couple of long days for our boy.
Trace has been doing so great lately, and we are incredibly thankful for that! As he continues this journey, he is now 929 days into treatment since his diagnosis on November 28, 2023. What a testament to his strength, courage, and determination.
This trip will include an oncology appointment, a hematology appointment, his 22nd spinal tap with chemo into his spine, additional chemo through his port, and an IVIG treatment.
The best part? After this spinal tap, he will have only 3 more spinal taps to go! 🧡
As we head out, we would appreciate your prayers for Trace and for everything to go smoothly. Please also keep Jordan and Dave in your thoughts. They always have a hard time watching us head out the door and not being able to come along.
Thank you for continuing to pray for, love, and support our family. We are so grateful for every message, prayer, and act of kindness along the way.
310 days until Trace rings the bell on April 10, 2027! 🔔🧡
