June at NHY means longer evenings, gentle breezes from the fans, flip flops outside the door, and community gathering in all the little ways that matter.

This month’s schedule is full of opportunities to practice, learn, restore, connect, and nourish something deeper within yourself. From Iyengar and Qigong to trauma-informed offerings, sound baths, workshops, and community care…there’s a little something here for every season of the nervous system.

A reminder that yoga is not just movement. It is conscious relationship with breath, with self, with community and with the world around us.

The mentorship module inside our 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training is not about becoming a “perfect” teacher, it is about becoming a more honest one.

This space asks our trainees to step into the vulnerable, courageous work of teaching in front of one another, receiving feedback, refining their voice, questioning their habits, and deepening their understanding of what leadership actually means in a yoga space.

There is something incredibly powerful about being witnessed by peers who are also doing the work alongside you. What value to learning how to hold space while also learning how to be human inside of it!

This module continues to become one of the most transformative parts of the training, not because it is easy, but because it invites real growth rooted in community, reflection, accountability, and care.

There is a profound difference between pushing through discomfort… and learning to move, breathe, and rest with greater awareness and ease.

This summer, join us for a three-part Iyengar Yoga workshop series exploring some of the places modern life tends to ask the most of us: the shoulders, the back, and our ability to truly rest.

Join Iyengar certified instructor Steph DeBoer as she guides you through careful instruction, thoughtful sequencing, and the intelligent use of props. These workshops invite practitioners into a deeper relationship with alignment, attention, and the subtle experience of the body and mind in practice.

Accessible to all levels including beginners, each session offers modifications and support for a wide range of bodies and abilities. Whether you attend one session or journey through the full series, this is an opportunity to slow down and study the practice in a deeply supported way.

A gentle gathering by the sea. 🌊

Over the past many years, St. Croix has become one of the places where I most deeply remember myself. As the pace softens conversations deepen. We practice together, eat nourishing meals, move our bodies, rest, laugh, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.

The retreat week of February 13 - 20, 2027 is now officially open.
And already, this retreat season is beginning to beautifully take shape.

What I love most is that these weeks are never just “vacations.”
They become little temporary communities. True and brave spaces where people arrive as strangers and often leave feeling deeply connected to themselves and one another.

If your spirit has been longing for warmth, spaciousness, ocean air, meaningful practice, and good company in the heart of winter… you are so welcome!

Flow & Stillness with Tessa Bent

This unique workshop weaves together the expressive, embodied movement of JourneyDance® with the deep rest and integration of a soothing sound bath.

We’ll begin by awakening the body through guided, intuitive movement—inviting release, freedom, emotion, joy, and connection to your inner rhythms. No choreography. No performance. Just space to move honestly within yourself.

Then, as the movement settles, you’ll be guided into stillness as waves of sound from crystal singing bowls, chimes, and drums support the nervous system in softening, unwinding, and restoring.

This offering is for anyone longing to breathe more deeply, reconnect with themselves, or simply be held in a nourishing space for a little while. No dance, yoga, or meditation experience is needed.

These two unknowingly showed up to our 300 Hour weekend wearing both versions of our studio mantra:
Awaken • Immerse • Embody

And honestly… it felt like the perfect reminder of what this practice is really about.
Yoga starts as something we learn; we awaken to the possibilities of how the practices can shift so many aspects of our lives.

We immerse ourselves in those practices, then slowly, they become something we live and embody, turning every moment of life into yoga.

What begins on the mat starts shaping the way we move through everyday life. We can feel it in how we breathe, respond, listen, rest, connect, and care for ourselves and others.

That’s the journey:
Awaken.
Immerse.
Embody.

Bhakti Yoga: The Practice of Devotion

Bhakti is often called the yoga of the heart. It's a path of connection, humility, love, and remembrance.

Together, we’ll explore gentle movement, breath, mantra, meditation, reflection, and simple ritual practices designed to soften the nervous system and open space for deeper listening.

Bhakti asks us to slow down enough to feel…
to be in relationship with something sacred…
and to remember that devotion can live in the smallest moments of our lives.

No prior experience with mantra, meditation, yoga philosophy, or devotional practice is needed.
You are welcome exactly as you are.

A sacred space prepared with prayer, beauty, devotion, and loving awareness.

In Bhakti Yoga, every offering becomes an expression of the heart. A flower, a candle, a shared meal, a whispered mantra. It is the practice of cultivating love and connection through devotion, presence, and sacred intention.

Though we don't always have the altar set up in the studio space, it is this intentional care that each of our teachers brings into every class as they create space for presence, connection, and wholehearted practice.

Before the movement, before the teachings, before the conversations…
there is always the heart. ❤

The Divine Joy retreat is an intentional container held so lovingly that your heart will once again remember the natural joy that you already are. We pour all of our best into this experience, sharing our resources and practices for connecting you to your own inherent joyful and devotional nature.
