Boise Yoga Girl

Boise Yoga Girl I teach to the subtle body. I teach students why we move the way we move, not just how.

Today, the way I teach is shaped by everything I’ve lived through—my burnout, my healing, my curiosity, and my belief that yoga is as much internal as it is external.

What exactly is myofascial release?

It’s a way of using mindful movement, pressure, breath, and time to work with the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and connects your entire body. Here I’m using the RAD ATOM roller - on side body, specifically working to release the Subscapularis and Teres to improve shoulder mobility.

Myofascial release can help:
→ reduce tension
→ improve mobility
→ increase body awareness
→ support circulation and recovery
→ create more space for easier, more efficient movement

But for me, it’s not just about “releasing tight muscles.”

It’s about learning to listen to your body again.

Want to experience it for yourself?

Join me Thursday morning at 9:15am at Juicy Roll Method and give your body some space to soften, breathe, and move.

And I’ll be teaching an upcoming Myofascial Release Workshop at Life Time Eagle Life Time Eagle —more details coming soon!

Lately I’ve been thinking about how—or if—we actually listen to our bodies.

And I keep coming back to one question:

How old were we when we stopped listening? And put everyone else first?

When did we learn to push through being tired?

Ignore tension?

Override discomfort?

Somewhere along the way, many of us got really good at turning the volume down on ourselves.

So what would happen if we turned it back up?

Not by fixing everything.

Just by getting curious.

How does my body feel today?
What is it asking for?
What have I been ignoring?

After 12 years of teaching yoga, I’m realizing that maybe the practice isn’t learning how to listen to our bodies.

Maybe it’s remembering how.

So tell me…

How old were you when you started tuning yourself out?

And what would it look like to turn the volume back up?

Your body isn’t a collection of separate parts.

It’s a connected system.

Fascia plays a role in how you move, sense, stabilize, and respond. Ignoring it means missing an important part of the conversation your body is having with you.

The goal isn’t to constantly fix your body.

It’s to learn how to listen to it.

Looking for something good to do with your body this week? 🤍

Come practice with me.

✨ Tuesday | 9:30 AM
Myofascial Release at Sunken Shala
A brand-new soul sanctuary in BoDo

This class is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect your mind + body, and give your nervous system a little space to settle.

Through mindful movement and myofascial release, we’ll work with areas of tension, create space in the body, and explore what happens when we stop forcing and start listening.

You don’t have to push harder to feel better. Sometimes your body just needs a little room to release, relax, and move differently.

Come as you are. 🫶

Did you have a mindful moment this week? In the middle of everything this week, was there a moment when you simply noticed?

Maybe it was a quiet morning with your coffee.
A beautiful sunset.A deep breath before responding to something stressful.
Laughing with someone you love.Feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. Or just noticing that, for a moment, you weren’t thinking about what came next.

How long have you been ignoring yourself? Do you know how to listen to your body?

If you're interested in exploring mindful movement and better mind-body awareness, consider a Mindful Movement Audit.

For years, we’ve been taught to think about our bodies in terms of what needs to be fixed. Your hips are tight. Your shoulders are weak. Your posture is bad. Your core needs strengthening. Your hamstrings need stretching...

What If Your Body Isn’t Something You Need to Fix?

What if, instead, your body is constantly giving you information—and the goal is to learn how to listen?

The way you move, breathe, balance, stabilize, or experience sensation can tell us a lot. Rather than assuming there is one “correct” way for everyone to move,
I like to start with curiosity:
What are you noticing?
What feels different?
What changes when we try something new?

This is the foundation of my mindful movement approach. We explore, experiment, reassess, and learn—because your body isn’t generic, and your movement practice shouldn’t have to be either.

Want to experience my approach in person?

You can find me teaching throughout the Boise area (studio link in bio) at:
