Just because the topic is not directly included in this post does not mean a warning is never required. Common sense rules apply. Any topic can become TMI, but usually it is not TMI to mention it in passing.

Tell us how you found the group. If by word of mouth, specify where (r/endo, CT endo fb group, tiktok, etc). Please be specific if you can, like “Nancy’s Nook” not “a fb group”.

NEESG Group Rules

Our group rules are listed below. If you are trying to join the group, you’ll also need to answer our membership questions. You can read those here: https://www.facebook.com/61576582076956/posts/122177914658886069/

Rule 1: Don’t be TRAASHy
TRAASHy (Transphobic, Racist, Ableist, Abusive, Sexist, Homophobic) behavior is prohibited.
Do NOT engage with trash — Report to Admin.
Inclusive language is encouraged in comments, & enforced in posts.
TRAASHy people need healthcare, but 1st offense = suspension, 2nd = ban.

Rule 2: NEESG Admin Team
The admins volunteer their time and energy to run this group.
Contact us via our page.
Don’t DM individual admins without permission.
Zero tolerance for arguing with us about content moderation/edits.
We decline/delete content, turn off comments, & suspend/ban as needed.
Feedback notes are always provided.
Do not block, harass, or badmouth any admin/mod.

Rule 3: Read the rules, featured posts, guides, etc.
FAQs are addressed in featured/guides posts.
If your question is already answered, admins may provide a link then close the comments.
“Delete if not allowed” = declined. If you don’t know, read the rules/guides or ask the admins.

Rule 4: Post Topics & Content Warnings
All posts must begin with the main subject / summary, followed by a list of any relevant content warnings.

Rule 5: Provider Recommendations
You can share positive/negative feedback on ANY Dr you have seen. Include FULL NAMES in posts/comments.

Our list of fellowship trained endometriosis excision surgeons is strict. The others can be added to by any member, including self-adds.

Rule 6: Not Medical Advice
Members are encouraged to ask/answer questions based on their lived experiences.
Social media is not a replacement for care with licensed professionals.
HIPAA is not applicable to social media since there is no doctor/patient relationship.
Interact with social media at your own risk.

Rule 7: Privacy
Post only what is yours to share.
Do not share group content w/o permission of the author.
Do not DM members without permission, including individual admins. (Contact the admins via our page instead!)
No pictures of young children (12&under).
Do not over share your kid’s medical info.
Redact sensitive details like DOB/address.
Anonymous posting is allowed.

Rule 8: Spam, Solicitation, Self-Promo, etc.
Spam = overshared memes, false info, tacky motivational posts, etc.
No unsolicited ads.
Self promo allowed only when requested by OP or pre-approved by admins.
DM for approval: research, events, business promo, page membership, endo fundraising.
Never allowed: AI, MLMs, GoFundMe.

Rule 9: Speak Up, Report to Admin
If something isn’t right or you have an idea, tell us.
Use the Report to Admin feature early and often.
Do not engage in arguments.
Do not whine about something if you aren’t going to help fix it.

Rule 10: Nope!
This rule is a catch all for anything not directly stated in the other rules/announcements.
Sometimes things aren't explicitly in the rules, but don't contribute positively to the group or cause a nuisance for the admins and/or members.
Sometimes the content just isn’t a good fit for the group.

Formatting Guide for Provider Recommendations

Example details to include:
• Dr Carlisle Cullen
• Forks Community Hospital & Private practice in his home
• Forks, WA
• [link to website with contact info]
• He accepts patients age 13&up, but only 16&up for surgery
• He accepts most insurance plans in-network.
• Review: Dr Cullen has excellent beside manner, very reassuring and good at answering questions. He patched Bella up after the birthday party mishap in September 2005, and it barely left a scar. 10/10 experience. [Patient feedback helps us determine the scope of the interaction a patient had with the provider. If you are self-referring, provide a list of your training and credentials. If you have a specific image you’d like us to use, send us that too.]

Share as much detail as you are comfortable sharing. Any info you provide may help other patients decide who is a good fit for their care.
