Yesterday was not only an adventure for Cameran, but turned into an adventure for our party of 9! With a long childhood friend of Cameran, we all traveled to Washington DC Zoo. With my poor planning, I failed to order parking passes in time before they sold out.... so we decided to take the Metro out of Springfield.
We get on the Blue line and headed to Grand Station to transfer onto the Red line.... we thought! When we reached the Pentagon City stop we were told to get off and a free trolly would bus us around Crystal City where there was work being completed. We would be taken to Chinatown to board onto the yellow line, then to the red line, putting us at the zoo. This took much time of us being at the zoo with many elevator rides, having to hop several trains, and a bus ride.
Leaving we had to do everything in reverse. Except there was a problem when we got back to Chinatown.... the elevator was out of service!!!! LIKE HOW!?!!?
The 7 of us had made it up the escalator as Tim and Cameran headed to the elevator. I got a call from Tim that the elevator was out of service. When he asked the attendant, he was told they would have to get back on the yellow line, to go back in order to get on the other side where there was a working elevator! I find this being a huge issue! They better be glad Tim was with Cameran and not myself because they would have gotten an earful!
Us being a party of 9, we were not about to head backwards, we did it the Pickett way! Two of the guys headed back to Tim and Cameran while I remained with the party. If you know anything about the Metro, y'all know the crazies come out at night!
The guys picked Cameran up in the wheelchair and headed up the escalator! I so wish I could have got a photo of that!
We made it back to Fredericksburg in time for dinner....
