When or where did you accept God's gift? You don't have to know the date and the time, but you need to know the place! My date was February 9, 2000. I was a 19-year-old freshman in a small Bible College. My where is the front row nursery side of the auditorium at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Ar. Dr. David Cwenar was preaching on the same thing he taught in Acts class the previous day...Do You Have the Power of God on Your Life? In class that Tuesday morning, I was the only person in the student body that said "yes" in class because I had led 7 kids to the Lord that Monday night soul winning...I was prideful and arrogant. I said it was ALL me. The Holy Spirit said, "Ummm, no. You need to repent and get saved." Immediately I thought, "Lord, if I do that right now people will know I wasn't saved! What about those kids I led to YOU Monday night?" The Lord gently reminded me, "My word will not return void." In other words, those kids didn't get saved because of me. IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS. I did not sleep at all that Tuesday night. I was sweating through my sheets I was so scared. My pride was going to send me to Hell if I didn't surrender. I'm sure I was quiet that day and definitely not myself. Then chapel came and the Holy Spirit was REALLY working on me. When Dr. Cwenar stood behind the pulpit and asked the same question he asked in class, "Do You Have the Power of God on Your Life?", I just broke. I could hardly sit still in my pew. I was ugly crying out of fear. I kept thinking," Lord, please let him shut up so I can go forward and get saved!" It never dawned on me that I could have just asked him right there! 😂 By the time the invitation started I was halfway down the aisle. My friend, Christel Marshall, came down and prayed for me, but she didn't even know why I was there because I was crying so hard out of fear. She just put her arm around me and prayed. My body felt so light after that. My burdens were lifted there on that front pew during chapel that day and I was healed from the brokenness of my sin. Has life always been perfect, no. Have I always made the right decisions, no. However, I have a God who never changes and is always the same. I have a loving, forgiving God that when I sin and I run back to HIM HE is there to pick me up and help me heal from my mistakes. HE HAS NEVER LEFT ME. HE will stay with you and keep you too if you let HIM. Don't waste God's grace.
