Walking the Be Still Road

Walking the Be Still Road Walking in God's Grace and mercy while living with chronic illness.

The struggle is real today. Sometimes the only prayer that makes sense is "Help, Lord."

Luke 8:23&24 KJV
But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

1) I am thankful I can still do things even if I have to pace myself.
2) Rest is not the enemy. Even Jesus rested, especially during storms.
3) I am thankful for the sunshine

Philippians 4:6&7 KJV
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Three things I am thankful for.
1) I can still listen to the Bible when I'm too sick or out of it to read.
2) I have a good group of prayer warriors going to battle on my behalf.
3) God is the same God He was before I got sick. He is the same God on days I feel better. He is the same God on days I am worse. He is always the same. ❤️

I gave someone advice that they needed to find things to praise God for in the midst trials they are currently facing. I figured instead of complaining I needed to do the same. ❤️

Always find something to be thankful for. 🏵️🌸🌺

When or where did you accept God's gift? You don't have to know the date and the time, but you need to know the place! My date was February 9, 2000. I was a 19-year-old freshman in a small Bible College. My where is the front row nursery side of the auditorium at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Ar. Dr. David Cwenar was preaching on the same thing he taught in Acts class the previous day...Do You Have the Power of God on Your Life? In class that Tuesday morning, I was the only person in the student body that said "yes" in class because I had led 7 kids to the Lord that Monday night soul winning...I was prideful and arrogant. I said it was ALL me. The Holy Spirit said, "Ummm, no. You need to repent and get saved." Immediately I thought, "Lord, if I do that right now people will know I wasn't saved! What about those kids I led to YOU Monday night?" The Lord gently reminded me, "My word will not return void." In other words, those kids didn't get saved because of me. IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS. I did not sleep at all that Tuesday night. I was sweating through my sheets I was so scared. My pride was going to send me to Hell if I didn't surrender. I'm sure I was quiet that day and definitely not myself. Then chapel came and the Holy Spirit was REALLY working on me. When Dr. Cwenar stood behind the pulpit and asked the same question he asked in class, "Do You Have the Power of God on Your Life?", I just broke. I could hardly sit still in my pew. I was ugly crying out of fear. I kept thinking," Lord, please let him shut up so I can go forward and get saved!" It never dawned on me that I could have just asked him right there! 😂 By the time the invitation started I was halfway down the aisle. My friend, Christel Marshall, came down and prayed for me, but she didn't even know why I was there because I was crying so hard out of fear. She just put her arm around me and prayed. My body felt so light after that. My burdens were lifted there on that front pew during chapel that day and I was healed from the brokenness of my sin. Has life always been perfect, no. Have I always made the right decisions, no. However, I have a God who never changes and is always the same. I have a loving, forgiving God that when I sin and I run back to HIM HE is there to pick me up and help me heal from my mistakes. HE HAS NEVER LEFT ME. HE will stay with you and keep you too if you let HIM. Don't waste God's grace.

Did you know when the Bible talks about giving it's not just talking about money or abundance? Sometimes we need to give of our talents...i.e. maybe teaching a class, doing nursery, singing in the choir, or cleaning toilets. Sometimes we need to give of our time...on our knees in prayer early of a morning for a friend in need, again in the nursery when we want to be in preaching, perhaps helping an elderly man or woman in the church that can't do what they used to, maybe even working with a family member that thinks they do more and you try to help them preserve what dignity they have left. Whatever you are giving, give lovingly, give liberally, give joyfully, and , most of all, give cheerfully!!! "For God loveth a cheerful giver..."

Sometimes you use dry shampoo and extra deodorant to have the energy to show love without the other person knowing. Her hair looks really good today!
1 John 4:11 KJV — Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

We're in good hands...Jesus' hands! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
John 10:25-30
25Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30I and my Father are one.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows."
Matthew 10:29-31

This afternoon I had my last Liquid IV. I had a short passing thought, "I need to pray about Honey's Place getting some more of those so I can restock." It wasn't even a real prayer, it was a passing thought of praying said prayer. LOOK WHAT GOD DID!!!

To most people this is not a big deal. However, to me, this is HUGE. These hydration drinks help me stay vertical!! It doesn't completely fix everything, but I greatly appreciate the help but gives. Thank you, Mrs. Dea! They are delicious!

I am thankful that God saw fit to not only redeem Israel, but he needed me! He will redeem you too; if you just ask Him to.
