Today, October 7th, I pause to remember the victims of that day, the innocent lives lost and forever changed in Gaza, and all those suffering in Israel, Palestine, Iran, Yemen, Ukraine, Sudan, and every other part of the world affected by violence and conflict.
As President of the Association of Natural Health, I believe healing begins with compassion. We are a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization, but being nonpolitical does not mean being silent about suffering. We reject violence, cruelty, and the killing of innocent people regardless of who commits it or who suffers from it.
The actions of a government, leader, or armed group do not define the worth or character of an entire people. We must never turn our opposition to injustice into hatred toward a nationality, religion, or community. We can honor one family’s grief without diminishing another’s.
There is always hope for change. Each of us can help shape a better world through peaceful action, compassion, and the courage to stand for what is right. Seeking peace does not mean accepting injustice; it means pursuing change without passing suffering on to others.
I believe following God’s guidance calls us to protect life, practice mercy, and treat one another with dignity. Faith should never be used to justify cruelty or the killing of innocent people. Our compassion embraces people of every faith and background, and all of God’s creation.
May we choose love over hatred and understanding over division. May God comfort those who mourn, heal those who suffer, and guide us toward a world where everyone can live in safety, dignity, and peace.
