Candace's journey began on May 30, when she suffered a stroke.

She was rushed to TriStar Horizon Medical Center's emergency department then transferred to TriStar Centennial Medical Center for a craniotomy. When it was time for rehabilitation (rehab), Candace returned to TriStar Horizon, to be closer to family, friends and the community she loves.

Throughout her stay, Candace worked tirelessly to walk again. She and her mother, Rhonda, met each step of the journey with determination and positivity. They quickly formed special bonds with our team.

"What I love about Horizon is that family is part of the journey," Rhonda shared. "The staff have allowed me to be involved every step of the way."

After weeks of challenges and hard-fought victories, Candace was discharged home.

In July, TriStar Horizon's rehab department lined the hallways to applaud Candace and Rhonda as they left, celebrating Candace's incredible progress. Candace will continue therapy at home, and she made a promise: she's determined to visit the rehab team, walking through the doors when she does.

Today, our hospitals were filled with pink, butterflies and a little extra sparkle as our teams came together to honor Tennessee's beloved Dolly Parton. 🦋✨

Dolly's music brought joy to generations, but her legacy reaches far beyond the songs we know and love. She showed us what it means to lead with kindness, give generously and care deeply for others.

Those values feel especially meaningful in healthcare. Every day, our teams are committed to caring for our patients, supporting families and serving our communities with compassion and heart.

We're honored to wear pink and celebrate a woman who meant so much to our home state and to people around the world.

We will always love you, Dolly! 💗

Every August, we recognize the Graduate Medical Education (GME) professionals who help prepare the next generation of physicians.

As part of HCA Healthcare, TriStar Health is connected to a GME network spanning 87 hospitals in 16 states. Here in Nashville, we offer seven residencies and one fellowship program at three of our hospitals.

Our GME professionals help make these residency and fellowship programs possible — supporting program operations, accreditation, compliance and the learning environments where residents and fellows train, grow and care for patients.

To our GME professionals, thank you for the expertise, dedication and behind-the-scenes support you bring to medical education, clinical excellence and the future of healthcare.

87-year-old George arrived at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital's emergency room, expecting he'd be home and playing golf the next morning.

He made the visit to the ER when his family physician recommended further evaluation for high blood pressure. He was admitted overnight for observation when telemetry monitor technician, Rina, noticed a subtle change in George's heart rhythm.

She knew it couldn't be ignored. Rina immediately alerted George's care team, and an emergency EKG confirmed he was having a heart attack.

Within minutes, the cardiac catheterization (cath) lab team was in motion. Less than 40 minutes later, George was in the cath lab, where Dr. Roshan Mathew and team restored blood flow through a 100% blocked coronary artery with an emergency stent procedure.

Now, George and his wife, Shirley, are looking forward to spending more time together and making more memories after recently celebrating 68 years of marriage. "We're so blessed." Shirley said. 💙

Across our TriStar Health network, our connected team of over 100 heart specialists are equipped to care for you and your loved ones when every minute matters.

Sepsis can happen when the body has an extreme response to an infection. It can become life-threatening quickly, so knowing the warning signs matters.

In this video, Dr. Sydney Hester, an infectious disease doctor with TriStar Centennial Medical Center, and part of HCA Healthcare, shares what to watch for and when to get emergency care.

At HCA Healthcare, our Sepsis Prediction and Optimization of Therapy (SPOT) system continuously monitors vital signs, lab results, nursing reports and other data to detect often subtle changes in a patient's condition and alert clinicians to signs of sepsis so they can take appropriate action.

If you or someone you love may be experiencing signs of sepsis, don't wait. Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room: https://bit.ly/4xRfgmk
